Cheerful Christmas by StampinUP!

Todays card sample was one of the projects at our recent Stamp Fair in Peoria, IL.  It's pretty simple really, but effective for wishing a loved one some Christmas Cheer!

Color Scheme:  Garden Green, Naturals Ivory, Real Red for the ribbon & Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities for the jewels (no, you can't even tell we used 2 different reds!)

The stamp came from Cheerful Christmas shown on page 15 of the Holiday Mini.  The Filigree Frame Textured Emboss Folder is shown on the same page as well as the 3/8 Satin Woven Ribbon.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Lori Helvick

Starburst Framelit Die

This card came from either Debbie or Mary of Sterling IL.

Color Scheme:  Crumb Cake, White, Tempting Turquoise & Daffodil Delight.

The Big Shot Starburst Framelit Die Collection on page 231 was used for the outer turqoise circle on this card.  Enjoy!  Lori

StampinUP Swallowtail

Todays card was mailed to me a long time ago and I wanted to post it while the weather is still warm in Central IL.  Before long I will be posting only wintertime cards and this one definitely is a last plea for Summer to stick around a little while longer!! (smile)

Pool Party & White Card Stock were used and the Swallowtail (& verse) were embossed.  The pool party ribbon is retired but the white 5/8" Organza Ribbon is still current and shown on page 206 of the Annual Catalog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I really appreciate you looking.  Lori Helvick

Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper

Did you miss me?  It seems like I have not blogged for awhile but in actuallity it has only been since Thursday.......(today is Saturday evening)!  At any rate, 10 of us demonstrators put on a big Stamp Fair in the Peoria IL area today.  Its been kind of all-consuming the last couple of days but it's over now, and I think (or at least hope) that all attendees enjoyed it- which was our goal.

I will be sharing those 4 Make-N-Take projects from the fair at some point in the near future but right now I have another card display from Sterling, IL.  Not sure who made this one, but I love the vividness of the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper (pg. 41 in the Holiday Mini).  Thanks whoever you are for your inspiration and sharing.

I am having my very first "Card Buffet"- (all you can eat) coming up on Oct. 3rd and 5th.  If you live in Central IL and would like to attend, please contact me at 309-221-5241 or email me at:
stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

I will also be having a "Card Buffet In The Mail" option if you live far away, but would still like to participate.  Please contact me via the phone or email listed above and I will share all the details with you.

Once again, thanks SO much for blogging with little ole' me-- Lori Helvick

Fall Fest Pumpkins & Motley Monsters DSP

Todays card was a project at the Card Buffet in Sterling IL a few weeks back.  I'm not sure if it was Debbie or Mary who made this one, but it's a keeper!

I really like how all 5 pumpkins have a happy face, courtesy of the Fall Fest Stamp Set & matching Fun Fall Framelits (pg. 46-Holiday Mini).  The Designer Series Paper used is called Motley Monsters and found on page 45.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this Halloween Card........Lori

"I get to because it's my birthday" & Fall Fest

I talked in yesterdays post about how hand stamped cards are the best kind of fun mail.  Well, my 2nd favorite kind of fun mail are cards from non-stampers (yes, I still let those people hang out with me- LOL) !

Well, my mother-in-law (sort of) sent me a very cute card for my birthday.  It says on the front "I get to because it's my birthday".  I LOVE THIS, not to mention the glittered shoes!!  I had that card on my desk today at work and used that motto quite often with co-workers, haha.  I said hey, my birthday only comes once a year so I might as well "milk it" right?

Another card posted below was made with the Fall Fest Stamp Set & matching Framelit Dies found on page 46 of the Holiday Mini.  This card was a sample at the Card Buffet in Sterling IL & I have no idea which swapper actually made this & traded with the gals there. (sorry)

Thanks very much for stopping by my blog today.  If you live out of state, & I don't know you, please send a quick note via my e-mail:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

I will send you some "fun mail" (a card sample) via your e-mail.  I promise I will not stalk you (smile).  Lori

"Fun Mail", Textured Embossed Backgrounds, & Secret Garden

Who out there likes getting mail thats not a bill, or junk mail?  I think we all can fit into that category can't we?  Well, personally I think getting a hand-stamped card in the mail is the best kind of "Fun-Mail" we can possibly get!  Wouldn't you agree?  (Of course I'm kind of bias).

The last couple of days I have been getting some hand-stamped cards in the mail (A.K.A. Fun-Mail) and I would like to share those with you today.  I have entered the name of the stamper below each picture along with the name of the Big Shot Embossed Background used on the card.

Only one out of 4 cards does not have a Big Shot textured pattern on it, but she made handmade birthday candles out of scraps so she passes!  (That would be my friend I lovingly refer to at times as "Recycle Jenny") !

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Thank you gals for the cards as well.   Lori Helvick

Seasons Greetings with Bright & Beautiful

This card was a sample on display at our last Peoria Demonstrator Mtg. & I do not know who the artist was unfortunately.

They embossed the star image from the Bright & Beautiful set in gold powder.  Both those stars were cut out with the Big Shot Star Framelit Dies.  Gotta love those stars right?

The punched out strip on the bottom was made out of the gold foil sheets & of course there is a pearl accenting the smallest star.

Color Scheme:  Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Gold, and Vanilla.

Have you started your Hand Stamped Christmas Cards yet?  It's getting about that time I suppose.........I should probably get my Halloween Cards done first I guess.  :)   Lori

Chevron Embossing Folder & Fun Flower Punch

Today's card was made by ??  (It was a sample at our recent Peoria Demo Meeting thats all I know.)

I like how they embossed the bottom part of the card with the Chevron Embossing Folder, then cut the white pc. apart along the zig-zag design.  This allows the black and white DSP to show thru.  Also, the creator used the Fun Flower Punch for a couple of flowers on this card.

The Petite Petals set and punch were used for the 2 tiny flowers and they each have a Candy Dot in the center.  Candy Dots are found on page 208 in the annual catalog and are definitely a personal favorite!!  I love the fact that you can get all the color families and they match StampinUP Card Stock Colors of course!!

Thanks very much for stopping by.  I appreciate you looking........Lori Helvick (StampinUP Demo going strong since 1999)

Oh My Stars!- Confetti Stars Punch

This card was made by my friend Marty C. and inspired by demo Justin K.  The picture does not do the card justice thats for sure!  I tried several times to get a good pic and the silver foil kept leaving a glare.

At any rate, Marty did a great job and I love anything w/stars!!  This sample has 3 different StampinUP! star products.  She used the Lucky Stars Textured Embossing Folder, Confetti Stars Punch and the Stars Framelit Collection.

Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks to Marty for sharing her creation with my blog followers.  Lori Helvick

Love & Sympathy Set and Beautifully Baroque Emboss Folder

This sample today was made by either Mary B. or Debbie K. (my demo friends from Sterling, IL).  Four of us gals went to visit them this last Tuesday for our 2nd "Card Buffet" at their house.  Very fun outing, with beautiful cards for us to make!

Anyway, after participating in their Card Buffet 2 different times, I decided to try my own (especially since I just got brand new lights in my stamping area!)  :)  Here are the details...........
**************************************************************************

I will be having my very first "Card Buffet" in my brand new stamping room!! Please save the date(s) and make plans to attend.

When: Friday Oct. 3rd OR Sunday Oct. 5th (both classes will begin at 1:00) with an "open house" style. You can arrive at anytime up until 5:00 pm. Please no arrivals after that time, & you may stay until your projects are completed.
Place: My house, in my brand new basement stamp room!! :) (Yes, you must me able to go down steps in order to attend this event, sorry).  Mapleton IL - You may contact me for the exact address upon signing up.

Cost: You will get to make 8 cards for $20.00 with envelopes available at a discounted rate. I will have 10 designs to choose from so you could make 1 of each card design or 4 each of only 2 card designs etc. etc. YOU DECIDE which cards you like the best & how many of each one you will make as long as the total is 8 cards. If you want to make more than 8 cards the price will drop down to $1.50 per card after the 8 are done. Make sense?

Discounted Fees: If you place a minimum order of at least $30, you pay only $15 for the card buffet. If you bring a guest (who has never been to any of my stamping events before), the guest pays only $10 & both you and the guest will get to split a free pkg. of envelopes (you pick the color).

Give-Aways:  Cleaning, sorting, & organizing has left me with MANY retired SU products to give away.  Each person who comes to my "Just Cards" Buffet will leave with at least ONE FREE ITEM & possibly more!!  :)

Please bring your own scissors & adhesive packet like always, and don't forget to RSVP via e-mail or 309-221-5241.

Thanks very much, and I hope you can come to my very 1st "Just Cards" Buffet. It should be a fun time!

***I will be posting ways for my blog readers to join in even though you can't physically come to my house because of distance.  Stay tuned for "Buffet In The Mail" specifics.***

Bloom with Hope & Scalloped Tag Topper Punch

The sample today has a couple strips of the Moonlight Paper Stack found on pg. 185 and then the whole top layer of the card was textured with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. Color Scheme:  Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and White.

A tag was made by using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (pg. 221).  Part of a doily was used as well and please notice the 3 jewels down in the left corner.  These were colored with our Blendability Markers as were the flowers.  The Hostess set "Bloom with Hope" is very pretty & very popular and used on todays' card!

This card uses the brand new On Point Textured Embossing Folder on pg. 22 (Holiday Mini).  The Festival of Trees set was also used & shown on pg. 24 (same book).  The Tree Punch cut out the tree image.  These stamps are really versatile because there are all kinds of ways to have a decorated little tree!  So cute......

You Little Furball (not you personally!)

This card was a sample at our recent demonstrator meeting.  The creator (unknown) made a very cute Halloween Card using the stamp set "You Little Furball".  You may find this set on page 112 in the current annual catalog or shop my on-line store by going to:
www.createwithlori.stampinup.net and click on the "Shop Now" button.

The very cute black cat peeking out of the pumpkin is very well-done and clever I think. Color Scheme:  Black, Pumpkin Pie and Mossy Meadow.  The new In-Color Ribbon was used as well.

Thanks for the look-see.........Lori
