Stars Framelits and Work of Art

As I mentioned yesterday, I will be posting the card swaps I recd at our Peoria IL Demo Mtg. a couple days ago.

The first card was made by me to swap out.  I used 4 out of 5 sizes of the Stars Framelit Dies.  This card was very simple to make and I added a little glimmer paper in the middle and some jewels around the outside.  I thought I would make this a Birthday Card but it could also be made into a Christmas Card just by changing up the verse.

The 2nd card was made by Sarah A. and features the Work of Art stamp set.  This card is very timely for the 4th of July Holiday coming up.  Sarah heat embossed the white star in the middle of the blue section.  Thanks very much for your inspiration!

If you have any questions about these 2 swap cards, just ask.   Lori

I Love That Retro Fresh Washi Tape!

This card was made awhile back when I was playing with my beloved Washi Tape.  Not only do I love the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape but I love them ALL........page 190- go see for yourself!

Anyway, I had seen this patterned card some where (sorry I don't remember who to give credit to).  I switched things up just a bit like we all do, but the concept is the same.

I added a few candy dots and some paper piercing.  The words come from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  What?  You don't have this "must-have" set?  Please check it out on page 18, and you will see all the words that it has to offer!!

The color scheme on todays card is:  Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Vanilla.

Please check back the next few days for some card swaps I recd at our Peoria Demo Mtg. on Saturday.  I really appreciate all the gals who took the time to make their swaps and they are wonderful ideas.

Thanks for blogging with me!  Lori

Accordian Like Card- Beautiful Bunch & Be The Star Set

Today we had a Demo Mtg. in Peoria and my talk was called "Oh My Stars"!  I showed various cards that I made using Be The Star stamp set (pg. 93), Stars Framelits Dies (pg. 231), and the Stars Paper Piercing from the Eclectic Pack (pg. 218).

I have always been a big fan of Stars so I was very happy to see StampinUP come out with the Big Shot Framelit Stars.  I had fun playing and creating, and will be showing those various "Starry Creations" in the next few days.  :)

My friend Mary from Sterling, IL designed this "Accordian Like Card" (sorry I do not know what the actual name is so just made up something).  LOL  Anyway, Mary made her card with the new stamp set Beautiful Bunch and also Petite Petals and Flower Shop.  I have attached her flowery card below.

The next day after I saw her creation, I decided to make the same idea using stars.  What do you think?  I used the newest In Colors for my card, and added a few jewels to embellish.

Hopefully you will be able to get the "just of things" by looking at the pics below but please email me at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com for cutting and scoring directions.

Thanks SO much Mary for your inspiration, and now how does it feel to have SEVERAL of your projects make it on-line!! (smile)

Papillon Potpourri & Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

Todays card was made with White and Basic Gray Card Stock and a T-I-N-G-E of Hello Honey Ink for the butterflies.

I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, and the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  Stamp sets used were:  Papillon Potpourri and Thoughts & Prayers for the words.  Of course the Elegant Butterfly punch made cutting out the 2 butterflies a snap!!

Hope you enjoy..........Lori

And yes, another Work of Art (by StampinUP & Lori)

Color Scheme:  Vanilla, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow. (3 of the new In-Colors)

This card was very easy but its also colorful wouldn't you say?  I used the ever-popular Work of Art stamp set (which is on back-order right now unfortunately).  But hey, this just tells us how VERY popular it is!

Please e-mail me any questions and/or comments at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com
You may also post a note here if you are able (some people cannot post to my blog for some reason).

Thank you, and STAMP HAPPY!  Lori

StampinUP's Hardwood is "Lovely As A Tree"

This card was made by me and designed by Mary.  Color Scheme:  Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Pool Party.

The "oldie but goodie" stamp set called Lovely As A Tree was used along with the Hardwood Background Stamp.  It does not show up very well but there is some ink sponged in behind the trees to add color.

Teeny Tiny Wishes was used for the verse and the Decorative Label Punch was used for 2 colors to get the layered tab look.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Another "Work of Art" by a Friend

This card was a sample at Debbie's house in Sterling. (not sure who exactly created it).  Take notice of the button and pearl colored yellow!  I'm assuming they used the Daffodil Delight Assortment of the Blendabilities since they are a permanent marker.

Color Scheme:  Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and White.

Stamp set used was the ever poplular Work of Art.  I truly LOVE the versatility of this set, and have seen some very cool "out of the box" creations using it.

Thanks for blogging with me today and please tell a friend to stop by as well.  I post daily!  Lori

Petite Petals & Chevron Embossing Folder

For today and tomorrow, I will be posting a matching card set made by Debbie K. from Sterling IL and inspired by Chat W.

There is a card box holder that will hold 4 cards with envelopes.  Below you will see the box itself (2 pics)and one of the cards that go in the box.  Please ck back tomorrow for the other 3 cards that make up the card gift set.

I really liked the colors used, and fell in love with the simplicity of the box itself!  The Work of Art set was used along with Petite Petals.  The Chevron Embossing Folder was used for the background texture on this card.

Like I said this is a two-part post, so here is a little carrot to nibble on.........

Blended Bloom and Decorative Dots Emboss Folder

Todays post shows another card made by Mary & Debbie of Sterling IL.  They used the new single flower called Blended Bloom along with the new Coastal Cabana Blendabilities. (I will keep you posted when these become available for customer purchase).

For the background they used the Big Shot and the textured embossing folder called Decorative Dots that carried over from the Sale-A-Bration time frame.  I'm glad this folder made it in the new book because I use it a lot!

I thought this card that Debbie and/or Mary made was really pretty, so I just had to get a pic to share on my blog.  Enjoy!!

Baby's First Framelit Die & Tiny Triangles Emboss Folder

I made this card a couple weeks back when I was in Sterling at my friends house.  I changed it up a bit from Debbie and Mary's original design.

Anyway, the 3 little ties on the front were made with the Baby's First Framelit Die (pg. 230).  Along the side I used one of the new Big Shot embossing folders called Tiny Triangles (pg. 227).

Color scheme includes:  White, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Baked Brown Sugar.

Thanks very much for checking in today!!  Lori Helvick

Work of Art & New In Color 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon

Today I have yet another card sample from my friends in Sterling, IL.  Not to worry, I will be running out of those at some point!!  (I don't mean they have not been great because they have!)

Anyway, the featured stamp set is Work of Art and they used the FABULOUS 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in the Blackberry Bliss color.  I love this ribbon........it is so soft and easy to work with!

This card sample is pretty simple and easy to figure out but if you have questions just let me know.  The gals used a clear acrylic block to get that square image stamped on the card.    Lori

Hostess Set- Bloom With Hope

I thought this was a very pretty card made by one of my Sterling friends.  Color Scheme:  Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and White.

The featured set is a Hostess one found on pg 240.  I have this set "Bloom With Hope" on its way to my house, as it's one of my new catalog favs!  I do not color very much at all, but I think I can make an exception for this stamp set.  (smile)

If you have any questions and/or comments, please let me know.  Thanks- Lori

Another Work of Art

This card was on display at Debbie's house in Sterling the other day.  Color Scheme:  Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, White and Black Ink for the verse.

The stamp set "Work of Art" was used to create the flower, stem, and background look.  I've been seeing a TON of samples using this set and I LOVE almost all of them!

Thank you.  Lori Helvick, StampinUP Demo since 1999

New StampinUP In Colors are a Work of Art

These several cards came from Debbie's house (Sterling IL).  She had them on display so I took a couple pictures.

The brand new SU In-Colors are featured here, along with the new stamp set called Work of Art.  Debbie made these cute little notecards, so I wanted to share and give her the credit.

Of course the new In-Color ribbons were used on these tags also as you can see.  Thank you for stopping by my blog.   Lori

Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set & Doggie Paw Print

.........say what?

The 2 cards today were made by a couple ladies who live in Sterling IL.  I attended a "Card Buffet" yesterday at Debbie's house (a very sweet demo who I met at the 2013 Convention).  The next few days, I will be posting some card pics of samples from that event along with the 8 cards that I made there.

Anyhow, the first card features the brand new stamp set called Tap Tap Tap. (pg 126-new catalog).  The 2nd card I really thought was cute because I'm a dog lover.  Simply by using a couple punches, they were able to make a "doggie paw print" for a sympathy card.  I had never seen that before.

I'm not sure if I need to give Debbie or Mary the credit for these card samples but either way you did a good job gals & thanks for sharing!

As always, please ask me any questions you might have and I will try to answer them.  Lori

Woodgrain Emboss Folder & Owl Builder Punch

Today's card swap I recd from Robin G. in St. Louis.  She used Just Sayin' Stamp Set and matching Word Bubbles Framelit Die.

The Big Shot Woodgrain Embossing Folder was used for the texture on this card, and the Owl Builder Punch was used to make the cute little guy perched in the tree hole.

Thank you Robin for the card swap and cute idea.  Lori

Flower Shop Swaps Rec'd

Today I have 2 cards that I recd from swapping in St. Louis at the Catalog Premier.  Both cards were made with the stamp set called Flower Shop.

The first card also used the Fringe Scissors shown on pg. 215 in the current catty.  I probably should have given the grass a "haircut" before I took a pic so the grass was not quite so tall.

The second card has a pc. of vellum CS for the Thinking of You verse.  These words come from the set called Sassy Salutations shown on pg. 67 in the current catty.

Thanks very much for visiting my blog........Lori

Arrows Texture Emboss Folder & Retired Happy Watercolor

The card today is made with Crisp Cantaloupe and Chocolate Chip CS.  I also used Vanilla CS for inside the circle part.

I know the stamp set Happy Watercolor is retired, but I forgot to get this card posted before June 1st(sorry).  You can use any flower that you have on hand, and the Work of Art stamp set has an image that will work just as well for behind the flower if you do not own Happy Watercolor.

I used the Gold Sequin Trim for those 3 little pcs. and Gold Metallic Bakers Twine for the ribbon on this card.  Of course, a circle punch or the Circle Framlit Dies will cut out your window needed for this look.  I hope you like it!!  Lori

Blended Bloom by StampinUP

Today's post features a new single stamp from the new catalog (pg. 167).  This flower is called "Blended Bloom" and I fell in love with it when I saw it used at the Catalog Premiere I went to in St. Louis.

I'm still practicing with the Blendabilities Markers and coloring definitely is NOT my strong suit!  I was able to pre-order the Rich Razzleberry Assortment though, so maybe with a little more use, I will get better!

My color scheme today is:  Sahara Sand, White, Hello Honey & Rich Razzleberry.  I used the Hello Honey marker for the center of the flower, but for some reason the color did not quite match the new ribbon or the new DSP as well as I would have liked.  Oh well, it is only a sample and you can use your own color preference.

Thanks-
Lori Helvick

Retired StampinUP Set- Simple Stems

The 2 cards I'm posting today were swaps I recd in St. Louis not too long ago.  Unfortunately, they have the same retired set in common-  Simple Stems.  (This set was in the recent mini catalog).

I didn't ever get this set myself, but I'm sure there are some of you out there who do own it right?  Just wanted to share a couple ideas for you, and I think the little monster faces made from one of the flower images is just adorable!!  Very clever idea, wouldn't you say?

Thank you ladies for swapping with me (please see below the picture for name of demo).
