Bloom for You Single Stamp

Color Scheme for today:  Smokey Slate, White, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight

Big Shot Items used-  Banners Framelit Die Collection and Perfect Polka Dots Emboss Folder

The flower is the single stamp found on page 139 called "Bloom for You".  It was cut out with the matching Fun Flower Punch and the yellow center was punched out with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch.

I used markers on the verse Grateful for You which came from the brand new set "For All Things".  The ribbon loop is the 3/4" Chevron Ribbon & the tiny little staple was put in with the new Handheld Stapler sold on page 16 in the Holiday Mini.

Thanks very much and enjoy your Labor Day Holiday weekend!!  Lori

Color Me Autumn Washi Tape & For All Things

As of August 28th, the brand new Holiday Mini Catalog is open for business!!  There are some very cool things in this catty along with totally AWESOME stamp sets!  Unfortunately, Stampin'UP does a great job of tempting us year after year (myself included) LOL.  I pre-ordered some things & have been playing a bit with my new items.  Jump back.......I had to get ALL the new Washi Tape that was available!  (smile)

If you have the new catty to refer to, the "For All Things" stamp set & "Color Me Autumn Designer Washi Tape" that I used on this card, are on page 41.  If you don't have your very own copy, and don't have your very own demonstrator, please contact me and I will send you a Holiday Catalog for FREE.  If you currently use a demo friend, please call them for your catty.  Thanks for your understanding.

Todays Color Scheme:  Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and White.

I used the Crushed Curry Bakers Twine (pg. 206) and the Antique Brads (pg. 209).  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks very much..........Lori

Happy Hour and Fancy Foil Designer Vellum

3 Cheers for you!  That's the verse I picked to use out of the stamp set on pg. 135 called "Happy Hour".  Color Scheme:  White, Cherry Cobbler and silver

I used the 1/8" Silver Ribbon and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.  I also used the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and a pc. of the silver Foil Sheets (both shown on pg. 193).

I appreciate you blogging with me on a daily basis........tell all your stamping friends please!  Lori

Yippee-Skippee by Stampin'UP

Today I'm posting a class project from a long time ago it seems.  It's very simple and quick to make.  Color Scheme:  White, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.

I used 3 Regals Collection Buttons, now retired- but we have others!  The 1 in. circle punch was used to round the ends of the 3 strips.  The verse comes from the stamp set on page 12 called Yippee-Skippee.  I used 2 markers to color on the word stamp instead of an ink pad.

If you need other instructions, just let me know.  Thanks- Lori

Sneak Peek- Cheerful Christmas

This new stamp set I used is found on page 15 of the Holiday Mini catalog.  Color Scheme:  Black, White, Real Red & Old Olive.

Cheerful Christmas has many options for embellishments!  (I used ribbon and jewels).  You can even use the Stampin'UP Blendability Markers to color the jewels if you would like.  :)  Its all good!

If you have any questions, please ask.  Thanks very much for checking out my blog on a regular basis.  Lori Helvick

Sketched Birthday & Floral Frames Collection

My creation today uses Gorgeous Grunge for the little bit of splatter in 2 corners.  The other couple of stamp sets used were Sketched Birthday for the cake and the word "celebrate" comes from And Many More.

For Big Shot products, I used the Perfect Polka Dots Emboss Folder and the Floral Frames Collection of framelits.  The vanilla circle of CS was cut out with a punch.

Color Scheme:  Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie, and Vanilla

Thanks very much and I hope you like the card sample.........Lori

Stampin'UP Label Love & Burlap Ribbon

This card was a class project last year about this same time.  (Summer is almost over unfortunately, so I will be working with those beautiful autumn-like colors once again).

Anyway, the DSP on this card is retired but could easily be switched to the new "Color Me Autumn" pack on pg. 41 of the Holiday Mini.  The acorns could be changed up as well with the new ones (shown on the same page) included in the "For All Things" stamp set.

The verse I used is from Label Love with its matching Artisan Label punch.  The crushed curry pc. behind the verse was cut out with one of the Chalk Talk Framelit Dies.  Another Big Shot item used was the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

Color Scheme:  Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, and White.

I used the Punpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and a little of the Linen Thread for a bow.  The focal point on this card is probably the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon that I used like a banner.  I used 3 Neutral Color Candy Dots on the bottom left corner as well.

Thanks very much for blogging with me!  Lori Helvick

Sneak Peek- Bright & Beautiful by Stampin'UP

Todays card I made yesterday while playing around with some of my new items from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

The Star Framelit Dies were used to cut out the big star from Bright & Beautiful (pg. 25) if you have the new catalog to refer to.  NEED A STAMPIN'UP! HOLIDAY CATALOG and would like to place your next SU order through me?  Please let me know ASAP, & I can send you one for FREE!  (The new catalog ordering period begins August. 28th).  As a courtesy though, if you plan to order products from another SU demonstrator, please contact them directly for your copy.  Thanks for your understanding on this.

Anyway, the color scheme today is:  Sahara Sand, White, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana.  Other new items from the Holiday Mini include:
  • Lucky Stars Textured Emboss Folder (pg. 30)
  • For All Things (pg. 41)  I used a marker & just picked up the "Thanks" from one of the stamps
The tiny coral stars were just "fussy cut" out of the coral CS from underneath the yellow square of DSP.  Make sense?  The 2 Coastal Cabana strips of DSP came from the Maritime package (pg. 187).

As always, I'm only a phone call or e-mail away if you have a question and/or comment.  Thanks for stopping by.  Lori

Stampin'UP Bird Builder Punch Makes Candle Flames!

The card today was a swap I recd in St. Louis and was made by Laura B.

She cut 5 candles out of card stock, and then used the Bird Builder Punch to made the flames!  Very clever, and she also added some sponging and glitter to the flames as well.

The ribbon Laura used and the verse are now retired unfortunately,  but the Decorative Label Punch is still current and a "Must Have"!  The Bird Builder Punch is shown on page 223 and the Decorative Label Punch is on page 220.

Thanks for blogging with me.  Please stop back on a regular basis if you can, and tell a friend that I post daily!!  (most of the time)  :)  Lori

Summer Silhouettes by Stampin'UP!

Todays card sample was a swap I recd in St. Louis back in April.  (I found 4 cards that I never posted in May with the rest of my New Catty Premiere swaps for some reason).  At any rate, guess what you will be seeing for the next 3 days too?!

Creator: Unknown.  Color Scheme: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum and Vanilla.  Stamp Sets used:  Summer Silhouettes (pg. 108) and Perfectly Penned for the words (retired).

Thank you!  Lori Helvick

Gifts of Kindness & Chevron Border Punch

Thanks for visiting today.  I have a card project that was inspired by demo Lee C. and then I changed the stamps and colors to make it my own.  The general layout stayed as hers was.

Color Sheme-  Vanilla, Soft Sky, Garden Green and Calypso Coral.  The last 3 colors were a "combo" on the Color Coach (pg. 176).  I knew I wanted to used Soft Sky because I had the matching seam binding ribbon.  I simply found soft sky on the coach & saw the other 2 colors to go with it......very fun to try different colors together from time to time.

I used markers to color in the flower stamp from Gifts of Kindness & the words came from this set as well.  The Chevron Border Punch was used for the 2 garden green strips and there you have it!

Enjoy!  Lori Helvick

Envelope Punch Board Makes Kinda Eclectic Card

This card was a fun one and I C.A.S.E.D. it from another demo, but not sure who at this point (sorry).  Anyway, the Envelope Punch Board was used to make the design along both sides. (pg. 194)

The stamp set is Kinda Eclectic (LOVE IT!).  Color Scheme-  White, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and Crumb Cake.

The paper on the inside of the card is from the Moonlight Paper Stack.  I used a corner rounder punch on the Crumb Cake pc., pearls, and 2 butterfly punches as well.  The little green strip was made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch on page 222.

Please e-mail me at: stampinfool2006@yahoo.com if you have any questions about this card or any of the posts you see here on my blog.

Thanks very much.

Stampin'UP Flower Punches & Moonlight Paper

The card sample today features 5 punches..........can you name them?  (ck on pages 219 - 223 for help if needed).

I used 2 different patterns of the Moonlight Paper Stack (pg. 185).  It's been my go-to designer paper lately I think.

The Big Shot and Oval Framelit Die was used for the white oval on this card.  I embellished with a couple of jewels and the very pretty new In Color ribbon called Blackberry Bliss 3/8 Stitched Satin.

ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO WOULD LIKE TO DO A RIBBON SHARE OF THIS NEW RIBBON?  CONTACT ME IF INTERESTED ON MORE DETAILS.  THERE ARE 5 COLORS OF THIS PRETTY RIBBON SHOWN ON THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER (PG. 207).  I like the "feel" of it and it's very easy to work with!

Oh, I forgot to mention the color scheme for today.........Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Always Artichoke and White.

Post here for questions or to get more details on the Ribbon Divvy.  You may also e-mail me at:

Age Awareness Set by Stampin'UP!

This card today was inspired by Connie B. (a demo from Ohio I believe).  Color Scheme:  Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, Basic Gray & Whisper White.

I used the DSP called Confetti Celebration (pg. 186) and 3 jewels.  I also used the brand new In Color ribbon  called Tangelo Twist and a couple punches.  The "Happy Cake Day" and candles came from the Age Awareness set on page 50.

Thanks for blogging with me today and please check back often as I mostly post samples daily!  Lori

Flower Shop & Kinda Eclectic

Todays card features all the new In Colors:  Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss.  The card itself was made out of Naturals White CS.

I used the Flower Shop stamp set along with the matching Pansy Punch.  I also used Kinda Eclectic for the butterfly and the leaves and the zig zag stamp came from Work of Art.

If you have any questions, please ask.  Thanks-  Lori Helvick (celebrating 15 years as a Stampin'UP Demo).

Arrows Emboss Folder & Just Sayin' by Stampin'UP

Hello bloggers........I hope you are enjoying the weather wherever you live.  It's been a beautiful day here in Central IL and I took some vacation time off work to enjoy it! (and of course do a little stamping inside as well).

The card I have today features the Big Shot Embossing Folder called Arrows (pg. 226).  I also used the Just Sayin' stamp set shown on pg. 109 with its matching Word Bubbles Framelit Dies on pg. 230.

My color scheme is very simple- just black and white with a hint of red for the heart.  For the 2 DSP Strips, I used "Back to Black" on pg. 187.  If you have questions just post them here or e-mail:
stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Quilting Under the Stars & Moonlight (paper that is)

Say what?.........

Todays' sample makes me think of a quilt on a card!  I used the Designer Series Paper Stack called Moonlight (pg. 185) and the Star Framelit Dies (pg. 231).

I simply punched out a bunch of DSP squares & glued them on white card stock.  Then I used the Star Framelit to cut out the shape and inserted a white star in it's place.  I used a black marker so it looks like stitching.  The tiny star is a punch and the others are the Big Shot dies.

Pretty simple concept really, but please ask if you have a question.  Thanks-  Lori

Blended Bloom Single Stamp & Project Life

My friend and downline member made this card for me awhile back.  Thank you Bonnie for the card & inspiration it provided!

Bonnie colored in the single stamp- "Blended Bloom" with our Blendability Markers.  Didn't she do a great job?  I taught her everything she knows! LOL  (Hardly, since I'm not really that good at coloring!)  She was on her own with that one!

Anyway, along with that flower stamp, Bonnie used one of the cards that came in the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection.  (pg. 189).  Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks very much for popping in and please come back often!  Lori

The Color Scheme for todays card post is:  Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, and Vanilla.

Stamps include:  Be The Star- pg. 93 and Perfect Pennants for the words- pg. 16

Big Shot items:  Stylish Stripes Emboss Folder and Star Framelit Dies

This card would make a nice birthday card for a man, woman, or child!

Enjoy your Saturday.........Lori

Silver Glimmer Paper & Star Framelits

I totally C.A.S.Eed this card today from the Stampin'UP! Website or blog or demo site or something!  It might have been from our Stampin' Success Magazine that we get as a demo.  Anyway, here it is.......

Color Scheme:  White, Pacific Point, Silver Glimmer Paper, Vellum, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.

In the center of the star I used the word "Hi" from the Label Card Thinlit Big Shot Die (page 228).  I like to call this die (and the one to the left in the catty), "Flip-Flop Dies"!  I can never think of the correct names for these, so I go with Flip-Flop because of the way a completed card will open and close.

Have a good weekend-  Lori

Happy Halloween by Project Life (Everyday Adventure)

Here are a couple more Project Life cards like I posted the other day.  Both these Halloween cards were made with items from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection (pg. 189).

With the help of a couple Stampin'UP punches and googly eyes,  I was able to create some scary looking creatures without using any Halloween stamps!  The "eek" came from the sticky letters in the Everyday Adventure accessory pack and the "boo to you" came from the brand new stamp set demos got as a free gift. (Love SU!)

I also used my Fringe Scissors (pg. 215) on the pumpkin card for grass & I cut the stem out free hand.  The legs for the spider came from the set "Project Life Point & Click" (pg. 27).  I had to spread them out a little wider to make them work though so I just used a Black Marker and did 1/2 at a time instead of an ink pad for the whole thing.  I used a marker for the dots above the spider and another stamp in that set as well.

Thanks for blogging with me today.  Lori

Fancy Foil Designer Vellum & Be the Star Set

This card was a class project awhile back.  It features a pc. of our Silver Foil Sheet along with the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (both on pg. 193).

I used the stamp set called "Be the Star" and the little star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  The bigger star was cut out with the Star Framelit Die set.

Color scheme:  Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Naturals White CS.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you-  Lori Helvick

Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Argyle Emboss Folder by Stampin'UP!

Color Scheme:  Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango & White

If you know me personally, you might already know about my love for WASHI TAPE!  (Yes, I pre-ordered all that I could from the new Holiday Mini).

Anyway, I like how this card turned out with a little of the Retro Fresh Washi Tape in the corner among all the stars.  It's a pretty simple layout and idea to follow but please ask if you have questions.

Thanks and now I must get ready for work (my real job with health benefits).  LOL

Project Life by Stampin'UP! - Everyday Adventure

I have 2 cards to show you today and both were made with items from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection shown on page 189.

Color Scheme for both:  Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, and White CS.

I used the Washi Tape and the silver arrow embellishments that came in the Everyday Adventure Accessory Pack (pg. 189).  I added some Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon to one card and a few Candy Dots to each card as well.  I came up with both these card ideas on my own just playing around with my new Project Life kit.  Yes, eventually I will do some scrapbooking with it!

The word "Birthday" came from the Age Awareness set and I just added the ! at the end.  The other verse "Bravo, Congrats" etc. came from the Tag Talk set.  Also, on the Happy Birthday card I used the Project Life Point & Click set (pg. 188) & the matching Framelit Die- Project Life Cards & Labels (pg. 230).

I used other Big Shot items as well:  Tiny Triangles and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folders along with the Window Frames Collection.

Thanks very much for blogging with me on a daily basis!  Lori

A Dozen Thoughts by StampinUP & Chevron Ribbon

Happy Saturday!  I hope you have some plans to create something this weekend.  I have class projects to plan for, along with coming up with samples for our Peoria, IL Stamp Fair.  Do you live in Central IL- somewhere close to Peoria?  Would you like to attend an "Inspire, Create, Share" Stamp Fair on September 27th?  We still have a few openings in the afternoon session.   Please e-mail me to get all the details at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Now onto the sample of the day........

Color Scheme:  Lost Lagoon, Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  I used the Star Framelit Die and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder for the texture on the stars.  The verse came from the stamp set "A Dozen Thoughts" (pg. 108).  I used the Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon along with a retired color of the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Beyond that little description, please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for blogging with me today!  Lori Helvick

Moonlight Paper Stack & Star Framelits

Have you tried Stampin'UPs Foil Sheets yet?  You should check out the colors of Gold and Silver on page 193 in the current catalog.  It's white on the back side and relatively thick.  I made all three stars with the Big Shot, Star Framelits, and part of a Gold Foil Sheet.  I used the paper piercing set called Eclectic shown on page 218 to make a design along the outer edge of all 3 stars.

The diagonal Designer Series Paper came from the Moonlight Paper Stack.  I used 3 Navy Candy Dots along the left side of the card.  Color Scheme:  Night of Navy, White, Blackberry Bliss, & Gold for the Stars.

Thanks very much for stopping.............Lori
