Vintage Leaves, Bird Builder Punch & FUN MAIL!

Today I have 3 different cards that were mailed to me by friends (I had a Birthday on Tuesday).  Now, nobody in their 50's likes getting older (ask me how I know) BUT it sure is great to get hand-stamped cards in the mail!  :)  I refer to anything like this as FUN MAIL!!  lol

Please see below each picture for the artist/friend who made and sent me the card.  Thank you everyone who took the time to do this.  Every one of the cards will go up on my display board in "Lori's Stampin' Den"!  Stay tuned for more birthday cards over the weekend.

Lighthearted Leaves by StampinUP

This card today makes a great blog post for the first day of Fall !  I used a leaf image and verse from the Stamp Set "Lighthearted Leaves".

Color Scheme:  Whisper White, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake.

The "THUMPING" technique (with marker) was used on the leaf image.  I also added a little texture on the Crumb Cake pc. with the new embossing folder "Softly Falling".

If you have any questions beyond my description, please let me know.  Thank You-  Lori

ALSO, I WANTED TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNER OF THE BLOG CANDY FROM A FEW DAYS AGO........IDA PICCO!  I will be in touch Ida to find out which one of those 2 stamp sets you are wanting!  Thanks everyone who played along.  The answer & stamp set was:  "FOR ALL THINGS"

Zoo Babies & Punch Art Make Great Youthful Cards

Both cards today would serve very well for a baby and young child.  The yellow color card would be good for a baby shower or newborn.  It features the StampinUP set called "Zoo Babies".

The 2nd card features Punch Art and would make a fabulous Birthday card for a young child.  The green body pieces and parts were embossed with a retired embossing folder, but you could very easily switch that up to a current folder instead to get the textured look.

Please check below each picture for the artists' name and location.  Thank you ladies for sharing your youthful creations!!

Every Blessing Stamp Set & another YOU TUBE Video

Today I'm sharing a beautiful Christmas card made by Elizabeth Mims of Powder Springs, Georgia. Elizabeth sat with us a couple different times while we were all in Utah for the StampinUP Convention in July. She was very generous to share this sparkly shaker card with me!  Bless her heart, there is even stitching as well as heat embossing on this card!  I feel very lucky to be the recipient of a creation from Elizabeth, and I appreciate all the hard work that went into this swap.  Thank you, thank you.  I hope to see you again sometime at another SU Event. You are a sweet, sweet person as well as an excellent stamper!  :)

Also, I did my THIRD YOU TUBE VIDEO today!!  I just have to say, I'm not getting any better at that yet, but practice makes perfect, right?  I did find out how to fix the very first one I did though and make it turn the right direction.  That's a very good thing for those of you who had to turn your head sideways to look at my wadded paper technique!! (SMILE)

Just go to YOUTUBE.COM and do a search for Lori Helvick.  All 3 videos (well 4 now) will pop up.  If you wish, you can subscribe so you can see my video attempts on a weekly basis.  If nothing else, they are good for a chuckle......LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  Lori Helvick

Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper

Today's samples all have one thing in common........VERY BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT, AND MUST-HAVE PAPER from StampinUP!

The "Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper" can be found on page 143 in the Annual Catalog.  I love this paper SO much, I find myself being stingy with it :)  LOL  Must quit that- and share with all of you because you need to see it!

At any rate, enjoy the following projects from Convention and a (Pre-Convention) event.  Though these ideas were made by others, and simply on display, I'm sure I can help out with any questions you may have.

Thanks for stopping by......Lori

Watercolor Wings, Bold Butterfly Framelits & Fluttering

I have 4 display board samples and/or swaps from Convention to share with you.  I like to show a common theme with every post, and today that happens to be BUTTERFLIES!!

The "Watercolor Wings" stamp set (pg. 75- Annual Catalog) is a must-have if you like butterflies like I do. On all 4 cards, the "Bold Butterfly Framelits" were used to cut the stamped images out.  Very fun to use!

Of course there is one more butterfly product from StampinUP that was used on all these cards.  The embossing folder called "Fluttering" is an added bonus as you can see below.  StampinUP makes it SO easy to coordinate their products when everything is "matchy-matchy".

If you have any questions about the cards, please let me know.  Enjoy your weekend & thanks for stopping.......Lori

Vintage Leaves, Thumping = Blog Candy

The first card today I made by using the "Thumping" technique with a chocolate chip marker.  The "Vintage Leaves" stamp set along with the "Leaflets Framelits" makes cutting out the maple leaf a breeze.  I also used the "Elegant Dots" Embossing Folder for the left side of this card.  Color Scheme:  White, Delightful Dijon, Chocolate Chip, and Crumb Cake.

The other card today was made by Suzanne (demo at a recent event I went to).  She used one of my fav products from the Holiday Catalog.......the "Woodland Embossing Folder"!  The "Acorny Thank You" set was used along with the matching "Acorn Builder Punch".  Thanks Suzanne for sharing your basket or "shoe box" swap with me.  :)

The common theme of both projects is the word "Grateful" and thats what I am for by loyal blog followers and occasional guests.  I think these feelings of gratitude should call for some blog candy, don't you?

If you can name the StampinUP set that the word "Grateful" came from (first card)- your name will be entered in a drawing to win this $18.00 set!!  HINT:  I did use a marker & the actual stamp reads "Grateful for you".  Just an FYI.

Please e-mail me privately at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

If you guess correctly, and I draw your name- you can pick this $18.00 set as your prize OR "A World of Thanks" background stamp sold on page 15 for $15.00.  GOOD LUCK WINNING THIS FABULOUS BLOG CANDY PRIZE!!  DEADLINE TO ENTER IS SEPT. 23RD 2015.

Thank you-  Lori

DO YOU KNOW WHERE THIS GRATEFUL CAME FROM?
(Please see above for a chance to win a prize).

An Open Heart by StampinUP

Todays' project was made by Debbie and/or Mary & I purchased it already complete!  Hows that for a deal?

Anyhow, the featured stamp set "An Open Heart" is shown on page 25 in the Annual Catalog.  I do not personally own this set but I do like it.  I think the card sample using this set in the upper right corner of the catty is very pretty (made by a StampinUP concept artist).

So as always, if you have any questions and/or comments please let me know.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.......now go stamp something!  (smile)  Lori

All That Glitters Is Not Gold- Leaflets Framelits

This card today is a version of a project we saw on stage at Convention along with a C.A.S.E. from my friend Debbie K.

"All That Glitters Is Not Gold"- the original meaning of this saying came from Shakespeare.  Essentially, (according to Google) the inscription is saying that whats golden outside isn't always golden inside.  Well, Shakespeare obviously never was around to see the StampinUP Glimmer Paper!  LOL  I LOVE THIS PAPER!  Check out the 4 colors on page 149 (Annual Catalog) and also the black now in our Holiday Catalog.

On this card below I inserted arrows pointing out the beautiful Gold Glimmer Paper (not that you could miss those 2 beautiful leaves) !!  Other colors include:  Tip Top Taupe, Vanilla, Tangelo Twist, Delightful Dijon, Mossy Meadow, and Blackberry Bliss.

I used the "Vintage Leaves" stamp set along with the matching "Leaflet Framelits".  A very fun background stamp called "Watercolor Wash" made that really light ink pattern in the taupe color.  This is a fabulous stamp to add color and fill up space on your card projects.

To check out any of the products used today, you can click on the tab above my picture or on the left side marked "Shop Now".  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you-  Lori

Build a Birthday Stamp Set

Both the cards today were made by me, but designed by Mary & Debbie of Sterling IL.  (They have been in my "to blog" pile for awhile I think).  These 2 gals put on a great card buffet which I try to attend from time to time.  :)

Anyway, the first card features "Build a Birthday" which can be found on page 11 in the Annual Catalog. Color Scheme:  Watermelon Wonder, White, Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Black (for the verse).

Colors for the star card include:  Tip Top Taupe, Soft Sky, and White.  This was a baby card at the card buffet and I switched it up a bit to simply say "Hello You".  No matter what sentiment, it is a cute card!

Thanks for blogging with me today, and please tell a friend about "Lori's Stampin' Creations" !

Festival of Trees w/ matching Tree Punch

The 2 card samples today are both Convention swaps I recd. in July.  (I keep running into more of these- sorry about that!)

Anyway, Nancy Alvarez made the tree card and the other artist is unknown.  I love the simplicity of Nancy's card and it would be very easy to make 50 (or as many as you need) for your Christmas card this year. Color scheme:  Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, and White.  The tiny star was punched out of gold glimmer paper.

If you have any questions about either sample, please contact me here or email me at:
stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

I really appreciate you checking out by blog and I do post here daily (most of the time- smile).  Lori

This card was a recent class project for Halloween coming up very soon!  On page 7 of the Holiday Catalog you will find this set called "Witches Night".  It coordinates with the "Lots of Labels Framelits" from the Annual Catalog.

My colors used today:  Black, Vanilla, and Old Olive.  Please notice the "Spider Web Doily" too.....these are SO much fun to use!

Thanks very much-  Lori

Butterfly Basics and Kinda Eclectic

The first card pic below shows a recent class project I did.  The "Butterfly Basics" stamp set was used along with these Colors:  Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, and White.  In the center of the die cut butterfly I used a "Metal Rimmed Pearl".

The 2nd card was a Convention card swap- artist unknown.  Color Scheme:  Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and White.  "Kinda Eclectic" was the stamp set used along with the 2 butterfly punches (Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly).

Thanks for stopping by.....now go stamp something! (smile)  Lori

Awesomely Artistic by StampinUP

Both card samples today feature a stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  "Awesomely Artistic" is pretty popular among my stamping friends.  Personally, it is one of my first purchases I made from the new book when it came out in June!  Love it, love it!!

I have several things to get done this evening before bed, so this post is short & sweet!  You know you can always contact me if you need to with any questions about the cards and products, colors etc.

Thank you-  Lori

Wild about Flowers (and more flowers)

The first card below was an idea I recd as a convention swap, and I changed a couple things to use it for a class project.  The StampinUP set "Wild about Flowers" is a favorite of mine. This set is shown on page 74 in the Annual Catalog.  I used Sahara Sand and Night of Navy.

The other 3 cards were all demo swaps I got in July as well.  If the artist was listed on these cards, I have written the names below the pictures.  Please be sure to check them out so I can give credit where credit is due.

I love all the ideas I get at different stamping events........today is a prime example of that!  Some demonstrators met in Sterling IL today for a Basket Swap at Mary Booker's house. (stay tuned for some holiday cards coming up in the next few days from that get-together).  THANKS SO MUCH MARY FOR BEING THE PERFECT HOSTESS!!
