Holiday Catalog & Flurry of Wishes

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow........

Everyone gets to order from the brand new StampinUP Holiday Catalog TOMORROW!!

We demonstrators have had awhile to "shop" during the pre-order period (one of our perks).  For the rest of you folks, the wait is finally over!! (Sept. 1st--) If you still need a Holiday Catalog of your very own, please let me know ASAP and I will get one to you.

The card sample I'm showing today features several items from the new book:

  1. Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set
  2. Snow Flurry Punch
  3. Iced Rhinestone Embellishments
  4. White 3/8 Glitter Ribbon

Color Scheme:  Lost Lagoon, Cherry Cobbler, White, Sahara Sand, Night of Navy

If you have any questions about my card, please let me know.  In the meantime, hop on over to YOUTUBE and check out my sideways video.....say what?  Yes, I was so very proud of my first stamping video but you might want to watch it on your smart phone so you can turn the direction yourself since obviously, I was a goof and filmed it wrong!  Anyway, here is the link......

Remarkable You by StampinUP

Today I have 2 card samples that I made using the Annual Catalog set called "Remarkable You".   The color scheme for the first card is:  Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green and White.

The 2nd card was designed by Bonnie A. and I made it during a card class at her home.  It features gold embossing powder for the leaves and "thank you".  Bonnie used Pear Pizzazz and White for the colors. Again, the "Remarkable You" set is featured on this card, along with the background stamp from "You've Got This".

Please let me know if you have any questions about either card.  Also, I did my very first YOU TUBE video today!  I need a lot more practice, of course, but you have to start somewhere right?  If you would like to check it out just go to youtube.com and do a search for "Lighthearted Leaves" and maybe add "Wadded Paper".  (this is the technique I used with that new stamp set).

Thank you very much.  Lori Helvick

Wetlands by StampinUP

I have a couple more masculine card swaps to share with you.  The first card was made by Sue B. and she used the stamp set called "Wetlands".  Sue also used the big background stamp "Hardwood".  Colors used: Vanilla, Soft Suede, and Always Artichoke.

The 2nd card was made by Kathy V.- demonstrator in Arkansas.  She used the Circle Framelit Dies and "Go Wild" Designer Series Paper Stack.  Kathy colored 3 jewels with a black sharpie!  Colors used: Tip Top Taupe, Black, and White.

A big THANK YOU to my demo friends for their inspiration!!  You sure made my "Masculine Card Making Class" a whole lot easier because I picked these 2 projects for my gals to make (along with 2 others).

Thanks Sue and Kathy, and thank YOU also for stopping by.  Lori

Wilderness Awaits (Manly yes, but I like it too)

As promised, I have a another "manly" card today.  Here in Peoria, IL we had a recent demonstrator swap and the theme was "Masculine Cards".

The card below was made by yours truly and I used the StampinUP set called "The Wilderness Awaits".  (pg. 86- Annual Catalog).  Color Scheme:  White, Black, and Tip Top Taupe.  Punches include the Word Window and the Banner Triple Punch.  This would make a great mans' birthday card for all the men in your life!

If you have any questions about the project, I'm just an e-mail away at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thanks for visiting.  Lori

Watercolor Words by StampinUP

If you turn to page 117 in the Annual Catalog, you will see one of my favorite new stamp sets in that book...."Watercolor Words".  I love the words and I love the images!!  Its all good in my opinion.

This card was on display at Convention so I have no idea who made it.  (sorry)  Take note of the 3 "White Perfect Accents" that were used (pg. 161).  The creator also used "Whisper White Bakers Twine" (pg. 158)

Thanks very much for stopping by.  Check back tomorrow for some more masculine cards from our recent demo swap.  Until then.........STAMP HAPPY!  Lori

****************************************************************

August Paper Pumpkin direction sheet & 2 cards I made
that were exactly like the kit suggested.

I switched these 2 pink cards up a bit by adding some
gold foil paper, gold glimmer sheet & gold ribbon.

These 2 striped cards were "stepped up" a bit by
adding a gold doily, scallop circle punch, gold twine & extra bling!

*****************************************************************

This card was adapted from an old Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I believe this kit was last year (maybe June) before the 4th of July.

Paper Pumpkin kits are great for beginners because they have everything you need to
complete a fun craft project.  Even you veteran stampers out there will be
challenged if you think "outside of that orange box" & come up with your own ideas
NOT on the directions sheet!!  Very fun!!

THANKS FOR VISITING MY BLOG PEEPS!!  PLEASE COME AGAIN!!  LORI

Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp by StampinUP

Enjoy the pretty flowers today folks.  The first picture I have 2 almost identical cards side by side to show the colors used.  The Calypso Coral choice (on the left) was a convention swap by Cindy P. and I made the card (on the right) with Rich Razzleberry.  Which do you like better?

The last card was another convention sample featuring "Definitely Dahlia" as well.  (artist unknown)  If you don't own this flower, you should check it out on page 129 in the Annual Catalog.  I've been using it a lot lately because it's so big and takes up space on your card!!  Less thinking that way!!  LOL

Thanks for blogging with me.  Lori

Envelope Punch Board Makes Gift Card Holder

Todays' project was made by Lisa Bailey & I rec'd it as a Convention Swap.  Lisa made a cool 3-D like card that will hold 2 gift cards or one gift card & some cash (there are 2 slots to put stuff in)  :)

Anyway, if you are intrigued with the idea of a double slot holder please contact me for directions, template, measurements etc.  I don't think I've ever ran across this pattern anywhere, but I can figure it out I'm sure. It always helps when you have the card in front of you, right?

Lisa used "Gorgeous Grunge" (a fav stamp set of mine) and "Sassy Salutations"- another favorite!!  Colors include:  Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, and White.  There are 4 jewels total, and the flower was stamped with "Petite Petals" & cut out with the matching punch.

Thank you.  Lori Helvick- StampinUP Demonstrator since 1999 and here for all your paper crafting needs!!

Another Sneak Peek & Build A Birthday Set for Christmas?

I have 2 Christmas cards for you today.  The 1st one was made my me and the 2nd one was made by Debbie Kramer.

I used the stamp set called "Your Presents" which we all rec'd while attending Convention in July.  Another Sneak Peek item that I used on my card is "Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper".  This is very pretty paper in Black, White, and Gold.  I also used Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant.

For Debbie's card, she made Christmas Candles out of the "Build a Birthday Set" which I thought was clever.  She also used washi tape and the Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Ribbon.  Big Shot items include the "Lots of Labels Framelits" and the "Decorative Dots" Embossing Folder.

Thanks very much & I hope you enjoy the cards.  Lori

Stamp from "Tin of Cards" Makes Cute Memo Pad

This little 3-D note pad project I'm showing was made by Bonnie Alexander and the card was made by Carla Branton. (I recd both at the StampinUP Convention).

Bonnie used "a happy hello" from the "Tin of Cards" stamp set (pg. 110- Annual Catty).  She used white embossing powder for this verse and punched it out.  The Bermuda Bay Designer Paper came from the Brights Color Collection shown on page 144 in the AC.

Carla used the brand new "Washi Label Punch" for her word piece.  She also used a couple flower punches and the Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim.  The textured dotted background was made with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Colors include white, black, and Mint Macaron.

Thanks to Bonnie and Carla for sharing.  Also, thank YOU for blogging with me each and everyday!  Lori

StampinUP Traveler

This great masculine card today features the stamp set called "Traveler" (pg. 82-Annual Catalog).  I'm not sure who to give credit to for this sample- it was on display at our recent "Stray Ducklings" Mtg. in Peoria, IL.  If you live close by Central IL, and are a demonstrator, you are welcome to attend our group meetings. Our next one is scheduled for Sat. October 3rd.  Let me know if you are interested, and I will get you the details!

Now I must go prep for my upcoming class "For Men Only" (man cards-not man stampers....... although that would be great too!) (smile) I do have "to-go" kits available for this class also, so let me know if you are interested.  I'm charging $11.00 for 4 cards at my house & I would just charge you the shipping on top of that if you are long distance.  Contact me ASAP at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

For your Saturday share I have some more display cards from Convention.  The common theme with all 3 projects is the "You've Got This" Stamp Set shown on page 113 in the Annual Catalog.  The first one is probably my favorite, though they are all pretty good.  Thanks to the demonstrators (unknown) for their inspiration.......

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog.  I post daily, so please come back often & tell a friend!  Lori
