I made this card using several new StampinUP products.......

1.  Globe comes from "Love You More" Set (Valentine Promotion)
2.  Dotted background texture is from the new Sale-A-Bration Brochure
3.  I used the new Banners Framelits Die for the ribbon tails (Occasions Mini)
4.  The words come from the new set "Starburst Sayings" (Occasions Mini)
5.  I cut out the word circle by using the Starburst Framelits Die (Occasions Mini)
6.  Red circle paper is called Fresh Prints DSP (Occasions Mini)

WHEW!  That's a lot of NEW StampinUP STUFF!!

I hope you enjoy today's card, and be sure to come back often as I post daily.  I have many more cards to share that feature new items from the 2014 Occasions Mini Catty and/or the 2014 Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

Baker's Twine & Small Heart Punch

This card was made by Michelle Hall & I thought she had a very clever idea.  I think it would make a cute Valentines Day Card. (hey, it won't be long)

Michelle just used some of the Early Espresso Baker's Twine and the SU Small Heart Punch and of course some pearls to achieve this look.  Thanks for this inspiration from Convention!

Happy Monday to you all.  Lori

Hello, Doily w/ Flowering Flourishes

Today I have a Convention Swap to post that was made by Fran K.  (yes, eventually I will run out of swaps to show you).

Fran used white embossing powder on black CS for the center of the doily, and black embossing power on white CS for the doily itself.  She used Flowering Flourishes (pg 118-AC) and Hello, Doily (pg 122-AC).

The Five-Way Flower was used for the center of the doily & Fran used 2 separate pcs. of black CS with the center circle raised up.  These 2 parts were punched out by using the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Lori Helvick

Sneak Peek- 2014 Occasions Mini- Retro Fresh

Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Sometimes we all just need a little inspiration to get us going on our stamping projects right?  Well, today I have a card to share that I made using brand new items coming up in the StampinUP 2014 Occasions Mini Catalog.  Before I mention some of the product I used, please turn to pg. 61 of last years' SU Catalog (if you have that).  I copied that baby card for my layout, can you tell?  Our catalogs are great for looking back and getting ideas so never throw them away!

Ok, I used the stamp set called "Love You More" which is available right now thru the Whole Lot of Love Promotion with SU.  I used the bird, and then the stamp that says Love You More, and just picked out the "You" by itself with a tangerine marker.

From the 2014 Occasions Mini, I used Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and Retro Fresh Washi Tape.  If you know me, you know how I LOVE that Washi Tape!  In this instance, it was very easy to switch out the ribbon from my inspiration card and put the washi tape in its place.

Color scheme is:  Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Tangerine, Coastal Cabana and of course Vanilla CS.

If you have any questions about the card or new product, please let me know.  Also, if you would like a copy of the brand new mini catalog please contact me at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thanks-  Lori

Hearts a Flutter & Stripes Embossing Folder

This card was made by Tammie White & I recd this swap at Convention.  She used 3 different Big Shot Embossing Folders- (Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice, & Stripes).

Tammie also used the Modern Label and Word Window Punches.  The banner was made by using the stamp set called Hearts a Flutter (pg 124).  This set has matching Big Shot Framelit Dies with the same name (see pg. 187 AC).

Now, I must get back to wrapping presents since it is Christmas Eve (nothing like waiting til the last minute huh?)  Those of you who know me, just know that is how I roll most of the time!  :)

Wetlands & Window Frames Collection

Happy Monday!  I have all this week off work, so everyday for me will seem like Saturday (smile).

Anyway, today I have a card front that was a Convention Swap and I do not know the creator.  He or she used the following items (just to mention a few).......

1.  Big Shot Embossing Folder- Woodgrain (pg. 190)
2.  Stamp Set- Wetlands (pg. 69)
3.  Label Love Bundle-  (Stamps on pg. 33 & punch on pg. 181)
4.  Big Shot Window Frames Collection- (pg. 186)
5.  Early Espresso 1/4" Stitched Ribbon- (pg. 173)

Thank you for checking my blog, and please remember I post daily so stop by as often as you can!

Everything Eleanor & Modern Mosaic Emboss Folder

Todays card idea came from Convention and Jilli.  I have no idea where Jilli is from.

Anyway, she used the stamp set called Everything Eleanor (pg 66-AC).  She also used the Big Shot Embossing Folder called Modern Mosaic (pg 191-AC).  Colors used: Choc Chip, Midnight Muse, and of course Whisper White CS.

The flower was "fussy-cut" and then added to the card with dimensionals.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you-  Lori

Punch Art & Textured Santa Claus....What?

With good Old St. Nick scheduled to visit us all soon (hopefully), I thought I should post this very cute version of a Santa.

This was a Christmas Card sent to me a couple years back by my good friend Jenny of Galesburg, IL.  I wanted to share this with my blog viewers in case you need a last-minute Santa idea to duplicate.

Jenny used circle punches and a swirly texture (Big Shot) for his beard.  Pretty clever huh?  Thanks for the great idea my friend, and now you are famous!  LOL

Happy Holidays to you all...........Lori

Background Stamp Dictionary & Swallowtail

I'm posting a very simple card today using the popular StampinUP butterfly stamp.  I LOVE this Swallowtail Stamp because it is big and takes up lots of space on your card stock !

The background stamp used is called Dictionary and sells for $13.95 in clear mount.  Finish the card off with 3 pearls and bingo-bango you are done.  This card is very easy to duplicate if you choose.

STAMP HAPPY!!  Lori Helvick

Anyway, there are more items that were used so ask if you have any questions please.  The artist is unknown, but this card was in my Convention swaps I recd in July.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today's card was made with some very popular StampinUp Designer Series Paper.  It is called Eastern Elegance and is on page 154 (AC).  Also featured is the stamp set Million & One (pg 63 AC).

This card layout is pretty straight forward and can be duplicated very easily using whatever DSP and words you would like (and have on hand).

Please post a comment here & let me know what you think of the card or e-mail me at:

StampinUP Snow Day & Window Frames Collection

This card was made by Christine T. of Peoria, IL.  She used some of the Winter Frost DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Also from the Holiday Mini, Christine used the stamp set called Snow Day- page 25.  DON'T FORGET THIS CATALOG EXPIRES ON JAN. 2ND so order all your favorites before then!  You may shop my on-line store by going to www.createwithlori.stampinup.net

From the Annual Catalog (AC), Christine used the Big Shot Window Frames Collection- pg 186.  I really use this framelit set a lot to cut backgrounds and stamped images out because I love the design.

Anyway, ck out the sample on page 11 of the Holiday Mini to see where the creator got her inspiration.  The StampinUP books have great samples to C.A.S.E. so don't forget to use them when you can't think of any ideas on your own!    Lori Helvick

Gorgeous Grunge & Papillon Potpourri

Today's post was a class project awhile back.  We used 4 popular stamp sets to make this card:

1)  Flower Shop (pg 94)  Check out the Flower Shop Bundle w/ matching Pansy Punch.
2)  Gorgeous Grunge (pg 109)  I used this set for my "Stamp of the Month Club" a few months back
3)  Papillon Potpourri (pg 90)  Coordinates with 2 butterfly punches on pg 183.
4)  Teeny Tiny Wishes (pg 44)  Kind of pricey, but well worth it because of the many occasions.

The black dotted ribbon is retired but you could replace with any ribbon you have on hand.  Please let me know if you have any questions on the card.

Thanks for looking!  Lori Helvick- StampinUP Demo since 1999 & still loving it!

Square Lattice Embossing Folder & Antique Brads

A cool thing to do is stamp your whole card front with images and then texturize it by running it through the Big Shot.  I do this quite a bit and of course you must do your stamping before you use the embossing folder.

This particular card features the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used some of the Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon along with an Antique Brad in the center of the bow.

I hope you enjoy this Christmas Card...............

Oh, Hello and Apothecary Accents

This card was a class project awhile back and features a couple StampinUP items that are pretty popular.......

1)  Stamp Set- Oh, Hello on page 34 (AC)
2)  Big Shot Framelit- Apothecary Accents on page 187 (AC)

I also used the 7/16" Trim Ribbon found on page 173.  Don't you just love our SU ribbon?  I definitely do, and a gal can never have too much ribbon right?

Anyway, I hope you like the card and have a Stampingly Good Day!

Lori

Delicate Designs Embossing Folder

This Christmas Card was made with some different colors other than traditional red and green.  I used some retired ribbon to go with the color scheme, but you can very easily switch things up with any DSP and ribbon that you have on hand.

I used the embossing folder along the top that is one of the Delicate Designs shown on pg 190 of the AC.  Once again, this could be switched up to another embossing design that is in your collection.

Let me know if you have any questions, but this is a pretty simple card to duplicate.  Thanks for checking in today.   Lori

Guest Stamper w/ Elf Bag

A friend of mine and downline member Jill H. (East Peoria, IL) made this very cute elf bag!  Jill said it is smaller than the one I posted a couple days ago so she adapted things on a smaller scale.

Jill also said....... she just used what she had and made it work.  Remember, you can do the same thing.  When we "copy" or "C.A.S.E." projects we can switch things up and use what we have.  The project than becomes our own.

Please consider sharing your Elf Cards and Elf Gift Bags with me to post here.  (It can just be the elf shoes & feet also for a card).

Thanks for stopping-  Lori

Gently Falling Set Makes Another Pocket Card

Back in November (the 15th) I posted a pocket card made with the Festive Flurry set.  If you didn't get the chance to ck that out already, you may view the Nov. 15th post called: Pocket Card w/ Envelope Liner Framelit Die.  Just go to the blog archives on the right hand side for November.

Anyway, today this project is made the same way.  I used the Envelope Liner Framelit Dies (middle size) and the Sweater Weather DSP.  The stamped leaves come from the set called Gently Falling.

I can't remember who to give credit to for this idea, but I have made 3 of these so far.  (Birthday, Winter, and today's fall version).

If you have any questions, please write me at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Merry Little Christmas Stamp w/ Elf Gift Bag

This morning I would like to share a cute gift bag idea for Christmas.  (no I did not think of this myself, and no I cannot remember the name of the designer I got it from).

Anyway, one thing I thought of too late & after the fact, is that this little elf should have pointy ears!  If you want to copy this bag, try adding pointy ears of some sort to make this funny looking guy more "elf-like".

I used the Merry Little Christmas set of 3 shown on pg 27 in the Holiday Mini.  Just use markers for coloring the words and then you can omit the "s" in "yourself" to make 2 words instead.......your elf.

I used gumball green CS and ribbon and red CS too.  Also, red glimmer paper (pg 156-AC) was used for parts of the hat and shoes.

The Big Shot Top Note Die was used for the shoes. Just cut the top note in fourths and then use a circle punch to make a hole.  For the hat, I inserted a pc. of green CS into the 1 3/4 scallop circle punch.  Just put the CS from the BACK of the punch and make the end of CS a scallop and then fold down to flop over.

Other punches used:  Word Window, Owl Builder Punch (circles).  I can't remember if I used the 1 3/8 circle or the 1 1/4 circle punch for the face.  Of course googly eyes add a nice touch as well.  :)

I used the Big Shot Framelit Die Chalk Talk to cut out the tag.  If you have the retired SU mittens punch, that would be ideal for the green mittens.  I did not, so I cut those out free-hand.  With a little creativity, we can make any project our own!

Please remember if you would like to duplicate this project, but do not have the exact same items I used, you can always adjust to items that you already have!!  PLEASE SEND ME A PICTURE OF YOUR VERSION, & I WOULD LOVE TO POST FOLLOWUP BAGS OR ELF CARDS MADE BY OTHERS BETWEEN NOW & CHRISTMAS!!

I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR CREATIONS!!  IF YOU MAKE AN ELF CARD OR BAG EITHER ONE, PLEASE SHARE WITH MY BLOG VIEWERS!!

Thanks for your consideration, and e-mail pics to:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com
All project creators will receive a small thank you gift from me!  :)

Modern Medley DSP and Blooming with Kindness

Today I am sharing a card designed by Bonnie A. of Washington, IL

Bonnie used the ever-popular StampinUP Designer Series Paper called Modern Medley.  The flower is from the stamp set called Blooming with Kindness (pg 65- AC).

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the beautiful flower has been embossed.  Black, Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler are the colors used for this very pretty Birthday Card.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Also, if you would like to ck out my website and on-line store, you may visit at:

Thanks, and happy Friday to you all............Lori

Wetlands and Signo Gel Pen (White)

This card would make a nice masculine Birthday greeting I think.  The stamped images on this sample came from the set called Wetlands (pg 69- AC).  The Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen (pg 163) was used to highlight the images and also scribbled at the bottom of the card.  A glue pen was used to add some glitter on the botton as well.

I hope you enjoy this sample today and thanks for stopping by.  Please tell one person about my blog, and pass along that I post daily.  Thanks very much- Lori Helvick

Scrapbook Pages- Festive Flurry & Tasteful Trim Bigz Die

This 2- page spread is size 12 x 12 and made for a recent scrapbooking class I had in Peoria, IL.  If you live in the area please consider joining us for a class sometime.  For this particular class at the library, I do one session for scrapbooking and one session for card making.

The layout is pretty straight forward here but please ask if you have any questions.  I used the stamp set Festive Flurry (pg. 30 in the Holiday Catalog).  This catalog sale period ends January 2nd so let me know if you need anything from this booklet before then.

I also used the Big Shot Tasteful Trim Bigz Die for these pages.  I've had this die for quite sometime and really love the look!  I added some of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments for bling and that was that.

What do you think?  Please leave me a comment here or write me at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

StampinUP- The Open Sea

I thought this card swap was very clever by making a "ship in a bottle".  This was another Late Night Stamper swap from Convention in July.  It was made by Pat of Gillette, WY.

CS colors used:  Vanilla, Natural Ivory, Soft Sky and Pacific Point.  The ship was embossed and she used the Early Espresso Bakers Twine.

The Open Sea stamp set is on page 101 in the AC and sells for $18.95 in clear mount.  The Happy Birthday stamp comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes. (a must have set!)

I hope you enjoy this very nice masculine birthday card idea.  STAMP HAPPY!-  Lori

Woodgrain Embossing Folder & Owl Builder Punch

This cute birthday card today was made by Mi Ran Bigrigg and it was a Late Night Stamper Swap I recd in July @ Convention.

I like how she used the 2 1/2 Circle Punch to make the hole and look like a tree.  The Big Shot Woodgrain Embossing Folder really gives a great tree-bark effect.  The Owl Builder Punch is cute with the design on his chest.  This was made by using the Betsy's Blossoms set.

If you have any questions about any SU products used on todays sample, please let me know.  Thank you very much for visiting!  Lori

Painters Tape Technique & Fine Feathers

The 2 cards today were made by using Painters Tape or Masking Tape to get the colorful backgrounds.  The card on the left uses the stamp set called Fine Feathers on page 75 in the Annual Catalog (AC).

Both of these cards I recd as Convention Swaps.  The one with the feathers was made by Melva of Canada and the other swap was made by Stephanie (sorry no more details on her).

If you would like to try the Painters Tape Technique on your own, please e-mail me at:
stampinfool2006@yahoo.com for the details.

Thanks and Happy Stamping!  Lori
