Gorgeous Grunge & Sassy Salutations

...........& Family Pics (Vac)

I was gone all week on vacation to Mesa and Phoenix AZ so that's why I have not blogged for awhile!  I had a great time at our family reunion and of course missed all the family members that could not come.  My folks did not travel there from IL, but this is how many of their offspring  got together in their absence........

3 daughters (myself & 2 sisters)
5 grandkids (3 live in AZ, my son from Seattle, & 1 from St. Louis area)
5 great grandkids (3 live in AZ and 2 from St. Louis area)

It had been about 12 or 13 years since some of us had seen each other and I had never met 3 of the little ones that live in Phoenix!!  Anyway, we enjoyed catching up and taking plenty of pics. (A few are below but I will not bore you with too many).

Of course I wanted to share some pics of cards today as well.  I realized I never did share my few swaps that I got at the catalog premiere.  I will be showing those in the next few days and I have a couple to start with at the end of this post.

Both the cards used the stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge.  Tape It set was used on one card and Sassy Salutations was used on both cards for the verse.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by- Lori

Simple Stems Stamp Set & Silver Designer Vellum

I have 2 cards today that were made with the same pcs. of paper and ribbon.  These items include:  Cherry Cobbler CS, Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Foil Sheet, White CS, Silver 1/8" Ribbon and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

One was a class project and then I used a left-over "kit" to create the card with the flower (Simple Stems from current mini catty).

It was kind of fun to use what I already had cut and ready to go, with the end result being something different!   I will post other duo cards like this in the future, because I always have left-over "card kits" from classes.

Thanks for blogging with me..........Lori

Goodbye Secret Garden

This card was C.A.S.E.D from LeeAnn G. and I used a different stamp set.  I thought the fold was a little different, because its not your standard card size opening!

I used the retiring stamp set Secret Garden (very sad to see that one go).  Also, I used the Woodgrain Texture Emboss Folder for the green "flap".

Color scheme:  Vanilla, Pear Pazazz, Canjun Craze, and Calypso Coral.

Thanks for stopping.  Lori

I have catalogs available for immediate mailing and I would love to be your StampinUP "go-to" gal !

**************************************************************************

I had a New Catty Open House this last Friday and Im going to share some pics of a few gals who attended.  At the  bottom of this post, you will see the Make-N-Take project featured at my Open House.  The gals loved to play with the brand new In Colors and a brand new stamp set called WORK OF ART.  I think this set goes great with another favorite of mine (Gorgeous Grunge).

I hope you enjoy this very simple card with new SU products!  Let me know if you have any questions about the sample and items used.  Thanks-  Lori

Goodbye to StampinUP Lacy & Lovely

I've been having issues with my blogger all evening so hopefully this post will work (I tried 2 others).  Anyway, this card was inspired by Mary F. and I changed the colors a bit but left the basic layout the same.

Color Scheme:  Vanilla CS, Soft Suede, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.

I used 3 sizes of circle punches for the stamp set called Lacy and Lovely.  This set is retiring and will NOT be in the new catalog that begins on June 2nd.

This card is pretty cut and dry but please let me know if you need further explanation.  THX-  Lori

Flower Shop & Banner Framelit Dies

For the card today I used layers of white (I do that quite often).  One layer for the actual card itself, and one layer for the textured dots (made with the Perfect Polka Dots emboss folder).

I used another layer for the Thank You and one pc. of white for the flower itself.  The Flower Shop stamp set is where that image came from & was cut out with the matching Pansy Punch.

For the 3 banners, I used some retired DSP (shh, don't tell) and the Banner Framelit Dies.  This look could be achieved with any Designer Series Paper that you have on hand.

Thanks for checking in today.  Lori Helvick

StampinUP Tape It & Gorgeous Grunge

Colors used on this card project:  Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Smokey Slate, Black and White.

Unfortunately, I do not have the stamp set called "Tape It" but I borrowed it from a friend and just played around with this set at her house. (Thanks Bonnie).  I might just have to add this to my collection!  Lucky for me, its still in the brand new catty coming out June 2nd.  :)

I added some blobs and speckles to this card from one of my most favorite sets.......Gorgeous Grunge.  Yes, it is in the new book as well so its not too late to get it if you don't already own it!

Thank you-  Lori

Saying Goodbye to Lacy & Lovely

Colors used on todays card:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Blushing Bride, and White.

I used the Scallop Texture Embossing Folder for the background layer.  The stamp set Lacy & Lovely (retiring) was used for the 3 images and then punched out with 3 different StampinUP circle punches.

The "Happy Birthday" verse came from Teeny Tiny Wishes (glad to see it made its way into the new book).

I appreciate you checking out my blog.  Please tell a friend (or 5) as I post daily!

Woodgrain Embossing Folder

For this card, I used some left-over pcs. of the banner kit from Sale-A-Bration.  Also, I used a small pc. of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum & the Gold Bakers Twine.

The background was made with the Big Shot and the embossing folder called Woodgrain.  I used the Scallop Oval and the Scallop Edge Punches.

Thanks!  Lori Helvick

Backyard Basics & Layers of White

Sometimes, using layers of white or vanilla card stock can be very pretty.  I like how this card turned out....... what do you think?

I used markers for coloring the tulips and butterfly.  The taffeta ribbon (Pear Pazazz) is wrapped around the flowers so it looks like a bouquet.  The textured layer of white was made with the Big Shot and the Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The stamp set is Backyard Basic & I used the matching framelits (of course) to cut out the tulip and butterfly images.  The hardest part of the card was the coloring!!

Thanks for visiting.

Lori

Fabulous Florets & Petite Petals

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!  I took my Mom to lunch in Galesburg on Saturday and got to see my son also (he doesn't contact me too much).  It was great that Mom & I visited with Cory for about 20 minutes and I just keep telling myself that a short time is better than nothing!

Anyway, of course I have a Mothers Day card to show you today.  I used Naturals White CS, Black and Crisp Cantaloupe. (the black twine is retired StampinUP).  I also used 3 jewels, Cantaloupe Ruffle Ribbon, and Watercolor Wonder DSP.

My stamp sets used:  Fabulous Florets, Petite Petals and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Punches used:  Scallop Border and Petite Petals

The banner was cut out using the Big Shot and the Bitty Banner Framelits.

Thanks!  Lori

Just Sayin its all about Gorgeous Grunge

One more card by Bonnie A. for today, and that should be all for awhile (until I go to her house again and take more pictures). lol

Anyway, Bonnie used the Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and Just Sayin set with matching Word Bubbles Framelits.

The card is quick and simple yet still has that cute factor!  Thanks Bonnie again for all of your card ideas I posted on my blog.

Perfect Polka Dots & Flower Shop

Colors for my card today:  White, Pear Pazazz, and Calypso Coral.

I used the Banners Framlits Dies (shown on page 27- Mini Catty).  The flower image came from the Flower Shop stamp set and matching punch.  The verse is from Gifts of Kindness (pg 83-Annual Catalog).

Personally, I love ALL the StampinUP embossing folders for the Big Shot!  I texture backgrounds all the time and the folder called Perfect Polka Dots is a "must have"!

Thank you much-  Lori

Retro Fresh Washi Tape

.........is one of my favorites and my friend Bonnie must like it too (she made todays card).  This StampinUP product can be found on page 19 in the current mini.  I'm happy to report it did carry over to the brand new catty as well.

I like the simplicity of Bonnie's card. She used layers of White CS with the Retro Fresh Washi Tape.  Let me know if you have questions and/or comments.

Thanks-
Lori

Pastel Pansy Card w/ Flower Shop

This card was made for a demo friend of mine who lost a loved one.  I used Blushing Bride, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Vanilla CS.

The Flower Shop stamp set and matching punch was used for all 5 pansy flowers.  I added pearls of course for embellishment.  I textured the B. Bride CS by using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.

Please contact me if you have questions, but it should be pretty straight forward.  Thanks for blogging with me...........Lori

This is another Bonnie A. card sample. Colors used:  Black, White, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush.

Both the Perfect Pennants stamp set and the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper can be found on pg. 27 of the current mini catty.  I'm happy to report the stamp set has been carried over to the new book which goes live on June 2nd (after the mini catty ends).

Thanks to Bonnie again for sharing her samples & allowing me to post pics on my blog.

Peek A Boo Card- Serene Silhouettes

This project was one I made a few of (for swapping) when I went to the New Catty Premiere in St. Louis.  I  C.A.S.E.D. the idea from Meg L. and then changed a few things to make it my own.  She had called this a Peek-A-Boo card and I liked the concept.

I used the stamp set Serene Silhouettes and some punches.  The small banner punch was popped up a bit because you need a gizmo of some sort to tuck your top flap into so it stays down.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Lori

Artisan Label & Elegant Butterfly Punches x 6?

This card is another Bonnie A. project and she is like me........we love our StampinUP punches!!

Bonnie used Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and White CS.  Also, there are actually 6 of the Artisan Label punches on the card and 12 of the Elegant Butterfly punches.  (6 stamped images in front & 6 punched out of CS in back).

Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Sunday afternoon!  Lori

Morning Meadow & Scallops Embossing Folder

The color scheme for todays card post is:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, White, and Calypso Coral.

I used 3 stamps out of Morning Meadow Hostess set found on pg. 203 in current AC.  (bird, thank you, & swirly pattern).

The Big Shot Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (pg. 32 mini catty) was used for the background on this card.  It will NOT be carried over into the new AC (annual catalog) unfortunately.  If you would like to purchase this embossing folder, please let me know ASAP.

As always, feel free to ask any questions about this card I made.  I would be happy to help.  Lori

Swallowtail Stamp & Apothecary Accents

Todays card is another one made by Bonnie A. (thanks my friend for sharing).

For the words in the right-hand corner, Bonnie cut the pc. out with the Big Shot Die Apothecary Accents.  The big butterfly stamp is called Swallowtail and can be found on pg. 71 of the current AC.

I'm very glad though, that both the Swallowtail and Apothecary Accents will be carried over in the next Annual Catalog that comes out on June 2nd.

Enjoy your weekend!  Lori

Sketched Birthday w/ Kaleidoscope DSP

This card was inspired by Mary F. and I changed the color scheme a bit and the stamp set.  I did keep the layout "as is" because I thought it was simple.  I made a few of these to swap with other demos when I went to the New Catty Premiere in St. Louis the other day.  (I will be posting the cards I rec'd at some point).

The color scheme is:  Bermuda Bay, White, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry.  As you can see I added 4 jewels.  I used markers on the cake from the Sketched Birthday set (pg. 13- AC).  The Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper comes from the current mini catty (pg. 27).

If you have any questions, please let me know by posting here or you may send an e-mail to:
stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thank you.  Lori
