Lovely As a Tree & Kind Koala

These 2 cards were created by Debbie and Mary but made by me at their card buffet.  "Lovely As a Tree" is still as lovely as ever in my opinion & still gets a lot of love from me :)  The 2nd pic is just showing you the inside of the card decorated as well.

The single stamp called "Kind Koala" was used on card # 2.  You may find this on page 23 in the Annual StampinUP Catalog.  I've sold quite a few of these and I personally like this cute little bear also.

Tomorrow, we are having a "Stray Ducklings" Demo Mtg. in Peoria, IL.  Stay tuned for some masculine swap cards after that, since it is our theme this time around.  I'm anxious to see what the gals came up with.

I will leave you with this thought I saw on Facebook the other day......
Crafting comes before Housework in the dictionary.  As it should!  Lori

Awesomely Artistic & 16 Great Years w/ StampinUP!

I wanted to share the 2nd swap card that I made for Convention (first pic below).  I used one of my most favorite sets- "Awesomely Artistic".  Also, the "Bohemian Designer Washi Tape" and the "In Color Blossom Accents" were used.  Color Scheme:  Vanilla, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, and Delightful Dijon.

Also shown below is the little StampinUP trash can I got as a gift at Convention (full of candy and some of the products shown in the other picture).  I reached my 15 Year Anniversary July 28th last year which was AFTER Convention 2014. The timing was great for me to "March" on stage this year for that big accomplishment since I was there in person! So, yes I missed posting this a couple days ago, but I now have been with StampinUP 16 years!! The time has just flown by, and it really has brought so much joy in my life. I have very loyal customers who are now my friends because of StampinUP.  Thanks to all of you for your support, and also to my demo friends who share my passion and love for an awesome company.  I am truly blessed!  :)

As always, if you have any questions about the projects below, please contact me.  Thank you for stopping by.......Lori

Todays' card sample was a class project a couple months ago.  I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to make the scallop oval card shape.  (make sure to fold the card in half before cutting on the Big Shot & move the framelit carefully up higher then the fold).

The featured stamp set is the "Build a Birthday" shown on page 11 in the Annual Catalog.  This is a cute set to play with.  Of course you can incorporate real washi tape instead of the washi look stamps.  Anytime I can use my washi tape on a project, it is a very good day!!  :)

Also, please ck out my facebook post from yesterday to see one of my convention swaps I made.  I will be showing my other swap card in a day or two.  For those of you who know me personally......you will be in shock when you see the pic of my latest new toy!!  Yes, I know it is hard to believe that I finally "caved" and got one of these.  (click on the FB link to the right)  Actually, what I want you to see is on my personal facebook page & not my business FB page.  Thanks-  Lori

Striped Scallop Thinlits w/ Punch Art

The 2 card samples are from Convention.  (sorry, demonstrators are unknown).  The first card is super cute I think & very timely for the hot summer days right now.  The Big Shot Thinlit Die "Striped Scallop" was used for the waves in the water.  Very clever wouldn't you say?

The next card project features the "Work of Art" stamp set.  The paint palette just happens to be the StampinUP In Colors for 2015-17.  (Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, and Watermelon Wonder).

I would also like to point out 2 of my stampin' buds that I was fortunate enough to hang out with in SLC, Utah this past week.  Bonnie Alexander is one of my downline members, and Debbie Kramer lives in Sterling, IL.  I never would have met Deb if it wasn't for standing in a VERY long line together during the 2013 StampinUP Convention!  I guess it is very true what they say......."good things come to those who wait"!!  :)  LOVE BOTH YOU GALS!

Thanks for stopping by.  Lori

Taking a much-deserved break on our last night in SLC.

Pre-Convention Event & Get Well Soup

As you can see by the pictures below, 3 of us gals joined other demos for a Pre-Convention Event.  The theme was about Super Heros & put on by StampinUP demos.  It was our first time going, while its been an annual tradition for others.

Also below, I have a couple cards from display boards (sorry, artists unknown).  The featured single stamp used is called "Get Well Soup" shown on page 23 in the annual catalog.  I have this stamp myself & I think its a good one!

Thanks for stopping by.......now go stamp something!  Lori

Floral Wings by StampinUP & Convention Fun!

DID YOU MISS ME?

Well, I had a very good excuse for being MIA the last few days..........I was in SLC, Utah for the SU Convention!  Our current catalog has "Share the Fun" on the front cover & we sure did just that for 5 days in Utah! (the actual event was Thurs. Friday & Sat. but of course we had extra "girlfriend time")

So, I wanted to share some pics of old friends, & a couple new ones we just met.  The last one is a card sample from a display board.  (sorry, I have no idea who made it).  You will have to keep coming back and checking my daily blog post for more Convention samples!!  I will always post the demo's name if known.

Some of us demos from the Peoria, IL Stray Ducklings group plan to attend the "On-Stage" event with StampinUP in November (closest one is in Milwaukee).  If you would like to join me there, and  "Share the Fun" as a demonstrator, please contact me.  I would love to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks very much for stopping by.......Lori

I always love how StampinUP does the stage & props.

Great photo op for Bonnie, Myself, & Nancy

You've Got This

I have a very quick post for you & then I must get to bed (early flight in the morning to SLC for Convention).

On page 113 in the current StampinUP catalog, you will find the set "You've Got This".  Color Scheme is White and Watermelon Wonder.  The new Dotted Lace Trim makes a very pretty add-on at the bottom of this card.

Thanks-  Lori

Watercolor Wings with an Easel Twist

I made this Black & White diagonal fold easel card recently.  This is a very fun fold where the recipient can have the card sit up once they open it!

A couple featured StampinUP items are the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set & the Butterflies Thinlit Dies.  I also used the "Everyday Chic" Designer Series Paper.  If you don't have this new pattern of paper, you can always use an old pattern that you have on hand.  It's fun to C.A.S.E. an idea and switch up papers, colors, etc. etc.

Thanks for stopping by.......now go stamp something!! (smile)  Lori

Dots w/ Sprinkles of Life

This fun Birthday Card was one project I made at a recent Card Buffet put on by Mary & Deb (Sterling, IL).  I just love the happy color scheme!!

The "Decorative Dots" Embossing Folder was used in conjunction with the ever-popular stamp set "Sprinkles of Life".  Such a fun set!

Busy, busy weekend and day off work today.  Got to run though now, and heading to St. Louis area to hang out with family.  I love my sisters SO much, and looking forward to our weekend together.  Lori

Today, I'm showing a couple cards with flowers on them.  The first card features the "Flower Shop" Stamp Set along with its matching "Pansy" punch.

The 2nd card features one of my favorite new StampinUP sets......"Awesomely Artistic".  LOVE IT!!  Here are some other new products I used besides the stamp set:

Please let me know if you have any questions about either card.  I appreciate you stopping by.  Lori

Summer Silhouettes Makes Angle-Fold Card

This card was made by Sheryl but I'm not sure who originally came up with the idea.  I really like different fun fold cards, and this one fits that bill.  Very cool !

The stamp set used is "Summer Silhouettes".  Color Scheme:  White, Old Olive, and Elegant Eggplant.

The card will start out folding like a normal card.  Then, when cut & scored properly, part of the right corner will fold back.  Awesome and very different, huh?  I might have seen this fold years ago, but I sure don't remember it.

Thank you for looking today and every day.  If you like what you see, please tell a friend.  Lori

Hexagon Punch w/ Punch Art

These 2 cards were projects at the recent Card Buffet by Mary and Debbie in Sterling IL.  I like how they used the same punch- "Hexagon" to make 2 completely different projects!!  Thanks ladies for your inspiration, but mostly for your friendship!!  :)

This post will be short & sweet.  I need to get my swaps done for the StampinUP Convention in SLC next week.  I'm kind of behind the 8-Ball but I will get them done.

Thanks for blogging with me.  Lori

Watercolor Wings & Brick Wall Emboss Folder

The card sample today was one of my projects at a recent stamping class in Morton, IL.  If you live close by, please contact me for a class schedule.  If you live far away, all my classes are available in "To-Go" Kits. I would love to explain the details of that program to you if interested, so please let me know.

Anyway, about the card post.......here are some BRAND NEW StampinUP items used:

  • Whisper White THICK Card Stock (for card base only)
  • Brick Wall Embossing Folder (this layer was just our regular white CS)
  • Watercolor Wings Stamp Set
  • Bold Butterfly Framelits
  • Tip Top Taupe
Now I want to talk a little bit about craft room organization.  The "Color Caddy" from StampinUP (pg. 136) holds 48 ink pads & 48 refills.  Please see below for something I got for FREE that will hold the rest of my In Color Refills (10 of those) and my retired Craft Ink Refills as well.  There were 2 of these gizmos at work so I brought them home thinking "they should be good for something"!

The last picture below shows another FREE item from work that I have no idea what its original use was.  I knew as soon as I saw it though that I would be putting my scissors in it!  :)  It even spins around........so cool!  My mother always told me "Your junk is someone else's treasure".  I'm very pleased with the treasures I found in the basement of my office building!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Lori

I love layers of White!

Sorry, did not realize I had some ink pads out & about when I took this pic

Ideally, the ink refill bottles would not be turned upside down, but thats the only way they would fit.
Of course, I have the lids closed tightly & I will monitor for any leaks that might occur.

I do have one more of these gizmos if anyone wants it.
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!

You've Got This by StampinUP

Here are a couple samples for you featuring a new set shown on page 113 in the current StampinUP Annual Catalog.  "You've Got This" really is versatile as you can see by these 2 cards.  You can just use any color and it still looks good!  I've seen the flower embossed, colored in, not colored in etc. etc.

If you look at the 2 samples in the book (pg. 113), please pay close attention to the card on the left hand side.  You will see where StampinUP artists "stamped the card front multiple times with the crosshatched stamp for a distinctive background".  I really love that card & it wouldn't be too hard to duplicate.

Please stay tuned tomorrow for a couple different organizational gizmos I got for FREE!  My new craft room will be SO organized when I get done........(IF I ever get done).  I'm just having way too much fun to stop changing things up!  LOL  Lori

Kinda Eclectic & Wetlands by StampinUP

The card today features a couple of my fav stamp sets........the leaves & butterfly images come from "Kinda Eclectic" & the words are from "Wetlands".

I will be using the Wetlands stamp set again for a project or 2 during my "For Men Only" Class.  (no, not for men stampers, but for women who want to make masculine cards for men!).  This class will be August 21st & 22nd at my home in Mapleton, IL.  If you don't live close, you may also request a "To-Go Kit". Please contact me for details on either option.

Thanks for stopping by & thank you Deb & Mary for todays' card idea.  Lori

Tree Builder Punch makes great clouds too!

I have a couple projects today that both feature the brand new StampinUP "Tree Builder" Punch.  The first card is similar to one I posted on Facebook the other day.  (please click on the FB icon to the right of this post and "like" my business page).  I would appreciate that!

Anyway, both samples were on display at a recent event I went to in Sterling, IL.  Do you live near there?  I can hook you up with 2 friends of mine who put on a fabulous "Card Buffet" every month!!  Hugs to Mary and Debbie who are always very welcoming  :)

Enjoy the cards and as always, I'm only an e-mail away if you need help duplicating these card ideas. Thanks very much.  Lori- demo since 1999

Bird Builder Punch Makes VERY Hot Flames!!

I've seen other versions of this card recently on different blogs.  Debbie & Mary made this particular one for a Card Buffet option.

The candle flames were made by punching out 12 wings from the "Bird Builder" Punch.  The designer paper is from the "Cherry on Top" Paper Stack.  The corners of the card (both back & front) were torn unevenly and then sponged to look like burnt paper.  Very neat idea!

Please let me know if you have specific questions on todays' post or ANY of my blog posts for that matter. I appreciate you stopping by.  Lori Helvick

Gorgeous Grunge & Bohemian Borders

The first sample today was made by my good friends Debbie and Mary from Sterling, IL.  They used the ever-popular stamp set "Gorgeous Grunge".  Another set they used is one of my favorites- "World of Dreams".  I love this card!  Thank you gals for your inspiration and for another fabulous Card Buffet!

Card # 2 was made by me when I was playing around with all my StampinUP Bohemian products.  I used the stamp set "Bohemian Borders" and also the "Bohemian Designer Series Paper".  Other new products used:  1)  Delightful Dijon Dotted Lace Trim    2)  Banner Triple Punch

Your comments are important to me, so please let me know what you think of my blog and the projects I post.  You can leave a note here, or send an e-mail to:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thanks much-  Lori

Summer Silhouettes w/ hide away stand up card!

This fun fold pop-up card has a fancy name I'm sure, but I don't really know what the official name for this card concept is. (sorry)  Hide away, stand up, or pop-up....you get the idea!

Hopefully from the 2 pics below, you will be able to figure out what I did to make this card.  It's just like any other 3-D card..... once you know the pattern- it really IS pretty simple.  LOL

I used the StampinUP set called Summer Silhouettes.  Color Scheme:  Wild Wasibi, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Marina Mist, and White.

You can't really tell, but I added 3 jewels to the 3 yellow flowers on top of the platform.  By the way, the platform is made from one half sheet of card stock (cut long ways).  The 2nd pic below shows how this card will fold up nicely to fit in our regular size envelope.  Lays flat to mail-- an added bonus!

If you have questions, I'm here to help.  Enjoy!!  Thanks-  Lori
