Happy Halloween & Good Greetings Stamp Set

Happy Trick or Treat Day!

I mailed this card to a friend a few days ago to wish her a Happy Halloween.  I used the Good Greetings stamp set for the words "boo to you".  I used the Holiday Home stamp set for everything else.

Color Scheme:  Hello Honey, Black, White, Marina Mist and Sahara Sand.

Awhile ago I had seen where someone used the same DSP (Moonlight) and turned it on its side to draw in some fish.  I figured I would try it vertical and make some ghost faces (I drew in 4).

Anyway, I hope you like the Halloween card.  Until next time.........Lori

Fun Fall Framelits Dies & Halloween Street

The 2 Halloween cards today were passed out to friends a few days ago, but I still wanted to show you the ideas.

The first one I made at a Card Buffet in Sterling IL.  If you live close to that town, please let me know and I can hook you up with Debbie and Mary (both StampinUP demos).  They really put on quite the spread at their monthly Card Buffets!

The 2 ghosts were cut out with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies.  Black Card Stock sponged with white ink really made a great dresser to hold these ghosts!!

The second card features the single stamp called Halloween Street on page 47 in the Holiday Mini.  I used some retired items to finish off this card, but hey sometimes you just have to do that to use up neat things :)

Thank you for blogging with me on a regular basis.........I hope you are getting some good inspiration.  Lori

Holiday Home Set & Matching Framelit Dies

The 2 cards I have today were both made with the "Bundle" shown on page 16 in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Do you still need a copy of this?  (please contact me.... stampinfool2006@yahoo.com)

Anyway, I used the tiny bats and very cute ghost stamps on both these cards.  Also, the black houses were cut out with the Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies.

On the first card I used the Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder and the Brights Color Collection paper shown on page 185 in the Annual Catalog.

For the 2nd card, the circle tag came from a Halloween kit (retired).  The moon was made with a circle punch and masking.  The bigger bat on this card comes from Project Life Holiday Cheer shown on page 35- Holiday Mini.

Please let me know if you have questions about either one of these Halloween cards!

Until tomorrow........HAPPY STAMPING!  Lori

Merry Everything Bundle & Dracula Punch Art

This Halloween Card I made for a demo friend and wanted to show you the punch art-work.

I used the Merry Everything Bundle which includes a stamp set & tag punch.  Color Scheme:  Naturals White, Black and Real Red.

The 2 eyes were made out of rhinestones which I colored with a black sharpie.  I used the Zig Zag embossing folder for the white background.  Count Dracula's ears were made from the ears off the Owl Builder Punch.

Circle punches were used for the hair, mouth, face and body.  The Triangle Punch made the teeth!  The Deco Labels Collection made the red cape (trust me, it took a little thinking & a couple tries... but it worked).  :)

Of course the red tag was made with a stamp from the Merry Everything Set and cut out with the matching tag punch!  YOU MAY "BUNDLE" THESE 2 ITEMS TOGETHER & SAVE 15%!

Beware of Count Dracula.......Halloween will be here soon!  Lori

Traveler- great masculine set by StampinUP

I made todays card when I went to Sterling IL in September.  My friends Debbie and Mary really put together an awesome Card Buffet with lots of cute cards!  (This great masculine Birthday card was one of those).

Color Scheme:  Black, Vanilla and Garden Green.

The globe was punched out with a circle punch to add some dimension.  Other than that, it is pretty straight-forward but just ask if you have questions.  The words come from the "Age Awareness" set.

Thank you for visiting......come again!  Lori Helvick

Motley Monsters DSP & Fall Fest

The card today was made by demo Julie D. from Champaign IL.  It was one of the card displays when I went to the Holiday event in Springfield on October 4th.

Julie used the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper shown on page 45 of the Holiday Mini.  The pumkins were stamped with the Fall Fest Stamp Set and cut out with the Fun Fall Framelit Dies (both on page 46).

I really like how Julie put the punch layers in front for the "Happy Halloween" verse.  Enjoy the sample!  Until tomorrow.......

Big News Stamp Set & Typeset DSP

Todays card is pretty simple and would make a good "Masculine Birthday Card."  The words....it's your birthday- can really be used for any age and male vs. female as well.

The Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper (pg. 184- Annual Catalog) was used on this card, but just use any scraps of DSP you have on hand to create your own version of this same layout.

The words come from the set called Big News (pg 68- AC).  This set is very versatile with a number of different occasions featured in one set.

Color Scheme:  Black, Cherry Cobbler and Vanilla

Thanks........Now, go stamp something!!  :)  Lori

StampinUP Set - For All Things (Times 2)

I have 2 cards to show today featuring the same Holiday Mini stamp set.  Look on page 41 & you will find "For All Things" which is ONE of my current favorites! (smile)

Both these cards were on display at a recent event I went to in Springfield IL.  I think the creator was Julie D. but I'm not for sure.  Anyway, I really liked them both, so wanted to show you my favorite set (right now anyway),  (Times 2) !!

Also, an item used on both cards is Color Me Autumn Designer Washi Tape.  (pg. 41 Holiday Mini)  I LOVE the colors featured in this 3-Pack.......Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry.  I think StampinUP did a great job of pairing these colors together.

If you have any questions about any projects shown, please remember I'm available via e-mail at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thank you.....Lori

Kinda Eclectic by StampinUP

Today I have a project that was one of our Make-N-Takes at our Peoria IL Stamp Fair (September 27th).  The attendees seemed to like the simplicity of this card which was designed by demo Christine T.

The actual card that opened was the vanilla piece and just the back (1/4 of a sheet of CS) was the blackberry bliss. (see 2nd picture below).  This is a good way to switch up your normal card layering when you have dark colors to work with.  When the part that opens is light in color, it makes for easier writing of course.

Color Scheme:  Blackberry Bliss, Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey & Mossy Meadow.
Black Staz-On for the words.

If you have any questions about this card, please let me know.  Also, I would love to get some feedback from my blog readers about things you would like me to do differently on my blog.  Any suggestions can be e-mailed to me privately at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thanks for looking.......Lori

Traveler & Gorgeous Grunge

This post was a class project last month.  The torn edges with sponging help to make the image look more vintage like.

Color Scheme:  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Naturals White CS and Black Ink

The Traveler Stamp Set along with Gorgeous Grunge are the 2 featured stamp sets.  Also, I used 3 Candy Dots in the bottom left corner.

Thanks very much........Lori

Holiday Home by StampinUP

Todays sample is a Christmas Card with the Holiday Home Stamp Set and matching Homemade Holiday Framelit Dies.

Inspiration for this card came from page 16 in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  In the book, all 3 houses were used and the card just has one.

1/8" Silver Ribbon was used at the top of the card.  Check out all the beautiful ribbons that StampinUP offers on pages 206 & 207 in the AC (annual catalog).  What is your favorite?  Please post your comment here, or e-mail me at: stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Thanks!  Lori Helvick

Color Me Autumn DSP & Blended Bloom

Today I have 2 cards to show with beautiful fall colors in them.  These were card samples on display at 2 different events, so Im not sure who to give the credit to.

First up..... is Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper featured in a "starburst" kind of look.  The Starburst Framelit Die was used for the outer circle layer.

Next, the "Blended Bloom" Single Flower Stamp was used for a lovely fall card.  The Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder was used for the white background layer on this card as well.

Please ask if you have any questions about products used or how something was done.  I really appreciate you stopping by my blog on a regular basis.  Remember, I post daily!  Lori Helvick

I went with a couple friends (Bonnie A. and Nancy L.- see pics below).  Also, I met a new friend there (one of the organizers) named Alison Stachera.  She made the samples I'm sharing today.  I told Alison, I would give her the credit for her work & share her blog information.  Please ck it out:

The Open Sea and Four Feathers

Here are a couple more card displays from our Stamp Fair in Peoria IL.  (Don't worry, I will be running out of those soon) !  LOL

The first card features The Open Sea (pg. 131 Annual Catalog).  Also featured are the Starburst Framelit Dies (pg. 231- AC).  I love, love, LOVE the white bakers twine that the artist used around the whole Starburst Framelit!  Very cool indeed!  It makes me think of the Spirograph designs I used to make as a kid.  (I know I'm really dating myself here) :)

The second card features the Four Feathers Stamp Set shown on page 42 of the Holiday Mini.  The feathers were embossed on a silver foil sheet.  The Feathers Framelits Dies (pg. 42- HM) were used to cut out those 2 individual feathers.  NO "FUSSY CUTTING" REQUIRED!!  Gotta love it!

That's all for today then.  Please check back on Saturday (Oct. 11th) for my "Middle of the Month Markdowns"!!

Thanks- Lori Helvick
