Apothecary Accents Die & Label Bracket Punch

This card was made with a couple Big Shot Framelits and a couple punches.  The color combo I used:
Vanilla, Eggplant, Coastal Cabana and P. Pudding.

The background paper is from the new Retro Fresh DSP.  The 2 Framelit Dies came from Apothecary Accents (Eggplant pc.) and Chalk Talk (the vertical pc. in the middle).  The 2 punches I used were Label Bracket Punch (cut in 2) for the green pc. and the Extra Lg. Oval for the verse.

It was very fun to make the Ruffle Trim ribbon fit around the oval pc. and much easier than you might think!  I used 2 Vanilla color candy dots to finish off my card.

This layout might be worth a shot to change up colors and shapes and papers etc. so go on........get your stamps out and play!

Have fun and Stamp Happy-
Lori

Sweet Sorbet DSP & Washi Tape Dispenser

I saw awhile back that someone had used an aluminum foil box (or saran wrap) to hold all their Washi Tape!  So, of course I had to make my very own since I am a HUGE Washi Tape fan.

I used the Sale-A-Bration DSP called Sweet Sorbet to decorate my foil box.  Also, I had some old decor element sheets so I used those for the letters on top and the brown design strips etc. (using Big Shot Dies).

It was pretty simple to decorate the box by just opening it up all the way & laying it flat.  Trace your pattern onto the DSP at cut it out and glue it on the box.  Decorate as you see fit!

Let me know if you have any questions please.

Retro Fresh DSP and Sketched Birthday

I used a couple different Framelit Die Sets for this card.  It's fun to play with the shapes and see what fits well together from all the different sets StampinUP carries.   In this case, I used the outside layer from the Labels Collection and of course the oval (vanilla CS) is from the Ovals Collection.

The background paper comes from the new mini catalog and is called Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  I thought it would be a cute "confetti look" to punch out 3 little circles from the DSP and put them by the stamped cake.

I used 3 different colors of markers and the cake image comes from the stamp set Sketched Birthday (AC-pg. 13).  My color combo featured is:  Vanilla, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron.

Thanks very much for the blog visit!  Lori Helvick

Flowerfull Heart & In Color Boutique Details

Hello........it's a cold one in IL today!  Wishing I was in Hawaii or someplace tropical right now :(
Ok, Ok, back to reality and the card of the day.

My inspiration for this card sample came from Margaret R. (demo).  I switched up the color scheme, added some jewels, and deleted a couple of things that she had done on the original card. (yes, this is allowed).

Anyway, my color pallet consists of:  Bermuda Bay, Cantaloupe, Sahara Sand and White.  The dotted DSP comes from the new Kaleidoscope found on pg. 27 in the Occasions Mini.  I used the Banner Framelits Dies on that same page to cut out the DSP.

The Flowerfull Heart is a single stamp and I used markers to color the design before stamping.  The In Color Boutique Details are shown on page 169 (AC) and I used the Crisp Cantaloupe colored button and matching 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim.

I hope you enjoy the card sample, and don't forget Valentines Day is coming up very soon.  You might want to get cracking on all those Valentines for your loved ones!!  Lori

Black, White, and Beautifully Baroque

LeeAnn G. of Minot ND was the creator and swapper of this Convention sample I received in July (yes, eventually I will run out of those.)

Anyway, LeeAnn used the single stamp called Beautifully Baroque found on page 113 in the AC.  This also has a matching Embossing Folder to go along with it.  The Beautifully Baroque Bundle can be purchased at a 15% discount.  LOVE THOSE SU BUNDLES!!

The words came from the stamp set called Loving Thoughts (pg. 106-AC).  LeeAnn used some glitter and some diamonds to add finishing touches to her swap.

Any questions, please e-mail me at:  stampinfool2006@yahoo.com

Also, you may go to my web-site and shop 24-7 at my on-line stamping store.  Please go to:

Lattice Bigz Die and Petite Petals

The card today was inspired by Connie B. (demo from Ohio).  I changed up a couple things to make it my own but the general layout is the same.

I used the Coastal Cabana 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim, and the Lattice Bigz Die.  Also, I used the Label Love stamp set with matching Artisan Label Punch.  I put tiny pearls in the middle of all 3 flowers.

From the Everyday Occasions Mini, I used the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.  Also the new paper is called Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  (pg. 19)

Colors used:  Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar, and Coastal Cabana.

Thanks for stopping by.  Lori Helvick

Papillon Potpourri & Paper Piercing

PPPP........say that 3 times fast!

Todays card was made by Amanda C. (a Convention swap).  I loved what she did with the 2 butterflies!

The paper piercing around the Decorative Label Punch really adds a good look I think, and also the sparkle on the punched out butterfly.

Short and sweet today, but please ask if you have questions about the card.

Starburst Sayings C.A.S.E. & Matching Framelit Dies

Sometimes we all just need a little inspiration, right?  Well, hopefully some of my card layouts and color combinations will inspire you.  It is totally ok to "copy & tweek" other card ideas, and I do it all the time.  Today is a very good example.......

The original card idea came from Cindy B. and she used a different color pallet and also the big background set called "Hardwood" which I don't have.  On my yellow pc. of CS I used the "Woodgrain" embossing folder instead.

I changed a couple other things as well, but the general layout is the same.  In the world of rubber stamping and scrapbooking, C.A.S.E means to Copy and Share Everything!  It is a great form of flattery I think, and I love it when someone wants to C.A.S.E. my projects! (yes, I do have some original ideas of my own).

At any rate, I'm loving the brand new Starburst Sayings and matching Starburst Framelits Dies from the Everyday Occasions Mini (pg. 34).  Of course you should all know by now (if you follow my blog on a regular basis) that I also LOVE Washi Tape!

I used the Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape for the 2 stars and also that strip in the middle.  I simply covered a pc. of CS with the tape and used the Circle Card Thinlits Die to cut out the stars (also Cindy's idea, but a very good one).

Thanks everyone for stopping by.  Lori Helvick

Deco Labels Collection and Window Frames Collection

When you use various Big Shot Framelit Dies, you can mix and match the different shapes to make layers that go well with each other.

For example, in todays card- I used the Deco Labels Collection for the Cherry Cobbler Pc. of card stock and I used the Window Frames Collection with Naturals White CS for the stamped birthday cake.  It's kind of fun to play with all the different shapes of the framelits instead of just layering card stock pcs. out of the same framelit set.  You should try that yourself and see what kind of shaped layers you can come up with!

Anyway, please let me know if you have any questions about the card or the products used.  Lori

2 Everyday Occasions Bundles- 1 Card

The brand new Everyday Occasions Mini has quite a few bundles in it for purchase.  I'm focusing on 2 of those for todays card post.

First, the Starburst Sayings bundle (pg. 34) has a set of 6 stamps and the Starburst Framelits Dies have 5 different sizes of dies that cut out the stamped images.  Love this concept by StampinUP!

Second, the Perfect Pennants stamp set and Banners Framelits Dies are shown on pg 27.  There are 2 images in the stamp set that can be cut out by using the Banners Dies plus the banner look is SO popular right now!

The color combo I used on the card today is Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie (right off the "Color Coach"- pg 139 AC).

Stamp Happy and with a smile!  Lori

Clear Block for a Background w/ Serene Silhouettes

You can ink up the edges of a clear block and use it as a background frame like I did on this card sample today.  Its pretty simple to achieve this look.

I used Pumpkin Pie ink and card stock and also a couple pcs. of washi tape in the same color.  I stamped BEFORE I textured the pc. of vanilla CS and put the 2 strips of washi tape on AFTER I textured.

Thanks for looking...............

Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper & Petite Petals Punch

The card today features the StampinUP colors Smoky Slate and Elegant Eggplant.  The words come from the brand new set called Just Sayin'.

I used Gorgeous Grunge for the speckled look.  The DSP is from the new pkg. in the Occasions Mini called Watercolor Wonder.  The flower was made by using the Petite Petals Punch (pg. 33-mini catty).

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for looking........Lori

Just Sayin'......I Love The Everyday Occasions Mini

Todays post was a very simple card to make, and it would be easy for you to duplicate as well.  Even if you do not have the brand new set called Just Sayin' you could switch to a stamp you do have.

I used the Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape (pg. 19 Everyday Occasions Mini).  The diagonal striped roll was just adhered to a pc. of white CS several times until I came up with the rectangle piece covered in washi!  It looks like I used DSP, but I didn't.

I added 3 of the Neutral color candy dots up top and one strip of the Coastal Cabana washi tape (from Retro Fresh I mentioned above).  The words came from the new stamp set called Just sayin' (pg. 36-new mini catty).

The Word Bubbles Framelits Dies match the Just Sayin' stamp set and you can order both at the same time in a bundle saving you 15%.  Please visit my on-line stamping store by going to:
www.createwithlori.stampinup.net

If you have any questions about the card sample, or the products used please let me know.

Thanks-  Lori

Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper & Hexagon Hive Thinlets Die

What do you think of this new DSP in the Everyday Occasions Mini Catalog?  Beautiful isn't it?

This sheet is probably my favorite out of the Watercolor Wonder package of paper.  I hated to cut it up and make holes in it (but I know where I can get more if I run out).  LOL

Anyway, I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlets Die (pg. 26 in the mini).  It does take some of the paper away as you can see.  Don't throw those pcs. away though like I did.  I have seen some other ideas where they use those pcs. on a 2nd card. What was I thinking?

I also used the Flower Shop and Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets on the card as well.  I hope you like todays project.

Thank you-  Lori

2 Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peeks & From My Heart

Today I have a card to show using some more new StampinUP items.  The Designer Series Paper is in the new mini catalog and its one of those small tablets (4 1/2 x 6 1/2).  "Fresh Prints" is what its called and I really like the concept of the smaller sheets.

Also, I featured 2 New Sale-A-Bration items (coming up Jan. 28th).  The words are from the stamp set "See Ya Later" and the dots on the bottom of the card were made with the embossing folder "Decorative Dots".

The frame around the verse was made by using a marker and only highlighting PART of the stamp on page 99 of the AC.  The set is called "From My Heart" & I used the "Labels Collection Die" to cut that out.

The "Decorative Label" Punch was used under the cut out framed pc. (just snipped the pc. in half for top and bottom).

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Lori

Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper & Candy Dots

The card today has a very simple layout that is easy to duplicate, and no I do not have the card turned the wrong way!  I wanted the saying to run uphill like that for sort of a different look.

Anyway, the color scheme is:  Smoky Slate, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight and White.  I had seen a card someplace awhile back that had the 2 strips of CS along each side like this with the corners rounded so I decided to adapt a card of my own with the same concept.  What do you think?

YOU can make this card very easily by using any DSP that you have on hand, and any brads or Candy Dots as well.  If you would like to purchase the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper, you may ck that out at my on-line store by visiting:  www.createwithlori.stampinup.net

As always please let me know if you have any questions.  THX- Lori

New- Petite Petals Bundle by StampinUP

I truly love the "Bundle" concept that StampinUP has been doing the last couple of years.  Most bundles are marked down at 15% off when you buy a matching stamp set and Big Shot embossing folder, or framelit die.

Sometimes they offer a matching stamp set with a punch which is the case with today's featured item.  Petite Petals is a stamp set with 6 little flowers and there is a flower punch that fits these flowers exactly........easy peasy!!

Other brand new items I used today include:

1.  Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper- pg 19 Everyday Occasions Mini
2.  Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (words)- pg. 27   "          "           "
3.  Starburst Framelits Dies- pg. 34 New Mini

I also used the Bird Builder Punch for the leaves and I added a total of 5 pearls.  Colors include:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and of course Vanilla CS.  For the top 1/2 of the card I used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

I hope you enjoy this spring-like card as most of the country is suffering thru some nasty winter weather today!

Rubber Hugs..........Lori

Gifts of Kindness & Beautifully Baroque

This Convention Swap was made by Carole W. from Williamsport, Maryland.  Carole used Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate and White CS for her color combo.

The stamp set called Gifts of Kindness is shown on pg. 83 in the AC (annual catalog).  I really like all the words that are in this set, along with the flowers.  Carole also used the Big Shot embossing folder called Beautifully Baroque shown on pg. 191 in the AC.

The Big Shot Deco Labels Collection was used to cut out the white CS for the flowers. Carole finished off the flowers with 3 pearls.

Thanks to Carole for this pretty, yet easy card to duplicate.  This card layout has numberous possibilities for different colors and images.

Thanks for stopping.........Lori

Elegant Butterfly Punch & Modern Medley DSP

Todays Convention Swap was made by Robin Boyer.  She used Black and Vanilla CS and the embossing folder called Perfect Polka Dots.

The Designer Series Paper used is Modern Medley and Robin put the Elegant Butterfly Punch right in the center of the DSP square.

If you have questions, please let me know.  Thanks!  Lori

Occasions Mini 2014 & a Look @ Perfect Pennants

The colors I used today are:
Smoky Slate
Tangerine Tango
Daffodil Delight
Whisper White

I used a total of 4 pearls and a strip of Washi Tape.  (LOVE IT!)  Punches on this card include the Decorative Label and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border.

Brand new items from the 2014 Occasions Mini include the stamp set Perfect Pennants and Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.

Out of the Perfect Pennants, I used 3 stamps......the star, sending good thoughts verse, and the row of polka dots.  If you look really close at the star, you can see how I incorporated the dots.  I "kissed" the dotted stamp to the star image and that is how I got those 5 little dots at the top of the star (hard to see in the picture).

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
